i never taken a sound card out...

my pc guy gave me a tower with a good sound card...gonna install it in my pc but cant see what is holding it into the tower...

i would youtube it like bbad said before but youtubing how to fix your soundcard doesnt work because of course

At the back of that tower the sound card has a metal bracket. There should be one screw at the top of that bracket. Once that is removed the card should lift out of it's PCI slot on the main board.

Before installing into the other system make sure the power is off to the system, there should be a switch at the back where the cord attaches. If there is no switch on the back unplug the power cord. If the system is "shut down" in normal fashion there is still power to the main board and plugging that sound card in could toast the whole deal... Then not only would you not have sound, you would not have a computer.

i figured the screw...have he card in my hand and there is a soldered wire leading back inside the tower..under some shit and then connecting to another sound jack and 2 usbs on the front

now how the fuck do i get those out....see...this why i hate doing anything like this...everyone says oh its so easy blabby blabby fuckicncnvnl1qi3po

 

Are you sure that wire is soldered, It should be a socket of some sort.

 

you can see the wires go into a white plastic box that seems to be secured to the board...no clue about the other end?
