yes there is absolutely something wrong with making yourself look like a vampire every day before you go outside



it is deeply disturbing

 

no more disturbing than someone that wears a monkey suit everyday. or someone that dresses like an athlete everyday, or someone that dresses like a hippy everyday, or someone that wears several body piercings everyday....which makes me think that there must equally be something wrong with someone who wears Tshirts and jeans everyday too. what about those judges wearing those robes every day....freaks they are i tell you. i guess there is some standard that says its ok for a woman to paint her nails red but i guy cant paint his nails black. i would like to know why though.

Anne is kinda a crappy writer but she's a great blogger and I follow her on FB.

The Vampire crazy isn't really a now a days thing. To my knowledge the subculture kicked up hard in the 80's and never really left. It just changed over the years.

you win...those correlations cannot be argued against.....the monkey suit comparison really smoked me

 

Then what about the women in war paint part. Surely that comparison is bang on.

 

both are make-up?....i dont see the point being made...its more a statement of fact.....i was one of the first to call steven tyler a douchenozzle for wearing black nailpolish while not on stage

nail polish is also a lame argument....men dressing like women is normal because women are real....men dressing like vampires is not normal because vampires are a fictional thing....like unicorns and leprechauns....it would also be weird to dress like a leprechaun but not weird for a woman to dress like a man...see the difference

Also: the vampire part of certain subsects of Goth is about Metaphor, not being literal vampires.

i think its a "making the outside match the inside" kind of thing. i would have my ears more distinctly pointed. but i dont wear make-up. i wear big tshirts, and bandanas over my hair. and sometimes i wear rainbow overalls. i think if people want to dress up, whatever. real, not real, as long as they arent hurting someone else. i like ren faire, and retro clothes. wear whatever makes you comfortable.

but thinking twilight is something to emulate is inexcusable.
