serious big time thing? it will be food i think. food security in particular. people freak out when they cant eat, when they cant nip down to the store. but its more than that. when people arent allowed to grow their own food then you will see serious issues.
its started even now. gmo, round-up ready plants. the roundup doesnt kill them, but they are drenched in the stuff. so more people are growing their own, if they can. favoring local food, or organic. which hurts big agriculture. so they dont like it. they want to add aspartame to milk and not label it. and the milk they sell is barely milk anyway, for the sake of speed and profits. so maybe you want a dairy animal, or you know somebody with one. big dairy is on your ass if you want to sell, or even share your milk. and if you choose to serve raw milk to your family you could lose your kids. i cant possibly be expected to properly pasteurize my milk. but i should trust the gubment, with their ecoli spinach, and their listeria melons.
and the meat, ick. the fillers and preservatives. but raise your own and shabam, everybody is up in yo bidness. there was a lady a couple of years ago who was raided by animal control, due to a PAID complaint by "house rabbit society" people. these were 4H and meat rabbits. the AC people showed up with crates (dont they check first and come back later to confiscate animals?) while the owner was absent, went into her rabbit shed, tuned off the fans (starting the rabbits toward overheating) moved some rabbits to dirty cages to take pictures... and confiscated the rabbits FROM HER FREEZER. well, have to autopsy these rabbits. they put the rabbits in unsuitable cages, it was all around bad. and the woman had the 4H kids coming that weekend to scrub out cages.

its a terribly terrible story. heres a link to a post with more detail than my memory.
    http://bobmccarty.com/2011/08/10/an...leads-to-raid-on-colorado-womans-rabbit-farm/

i think the big thing, the biggest, is food. people go crazy about food. and without it, violence. death. suffering... and when they arent enough gravediggers, pestilence. war can hurt, a big war would be terrible, but food is our most dangerous risk.

anyway, thats my 2 cents. had a good visit today, made pizza and cupcakes. they are trying to find an apartment, have 3 girls. if you have good vibes to spare for that purpose, please direct them my way, or toward a generally jefferson county colorado direction, since thats where they are looking. their landlord illegally evicted them, kept all their stuff. they are planning to press charges, but they need to house themselves first. hes actually working for the school district now, decent money, they have no CC debt (better off than us in that department) but he gets paid once a month. they are very similar to us, in that everytime we gasp above water we get dunked again. figure we ought to help each other out to keep from drowning.

i am so tired. and im all out of pizza. i must make more tomorrow. sorry for rambling on

global warming is such a terrible misnomer. call it climate change. you cant grow the food you are accustomed to growing if your growing season changes. changes in precipitation. soggy gardens anyone? drought? like the stuff thats happening? a couple of years ago there was a problem with peanuts, and it quickly elevated the price of a a jar of PB. coffee prices up lately? i know im spending a lot more than i used to, theres a fungus affecting coffee. its all interconnected. climate change is doom. and then theres global dimming, which is bad, but is saving our collective ass at the moment.

id still like a nice place to live.

I've read where we (the earth) is in a natural cycle, and this "global warming" is only part of expected change(s) along the years.

Right now, in SC, even though it isn't cold, it isn't hot either...and global warming seems pretty far away.

ML, you are sooo right on about food, and that possibly being the next huge life-changing thing to happen on earth.

No food or only seriously bad-for-you food being all that is available and the effects of there being no affordable health care here will probably kick in at the same time.

RIP George, I Feel That Was His Best Clip Ever,

But Maybe That's Because Right From The Beginning I Felt That

Global Warming Was A Load Of Bollocks, And Eventually I

Will Be Proved To Be Correct...:)

When I was hired (at this place that will remain nameless right now :p ) I was told during orientation that health insurance would be offered.

About 1 1/2 months ago, I asked one of the ladies from orientation that happened to be at the "place" (lol) about when could I find out about signing up for insurance...

She rolls her eyes at me as she said "yeah, we did say that at orientation, but there isn't going to be any insurance now. It was on the board", she says very dismissively AS she (I promise this is the truth) ends her  statement with the palm facing me.

I said, with my palm also facing her :D, "Well, there was nothing on the board". I then :D ...like I said in an earlier post I've learned to control my tongue.

I hope my traitorous body doesn't start having hives and such.

just went to the bathroom with all the lights out and pitch black.
made me think what would i do if i were blind. i mean sure going to the bathroom would be easy but i think i would go mad from the boredom. i mean how would i click on my music on this here computer. i could play a music cd but would have to fumble through them and until they are all labeled in a way i can read them there would be a lot of playing stuff i dont feel like hearing. changing the channel on the tv would be hell too. sitting here in a quiet room now and i know i would be bashing the clock on the wall if i couldnt see it. fucking annoying ticking......

I have a cousin that had/has a master's degree in what is called O & M...Orientation and Mobility for the blind. She contracted with the state and did this for about 10 yrs or so; but, after a while it began to get to her. :(

    She doesn't do that anymore.

Anyway, Pens, there's lots of stuff you could do and you'd be able to hear what you wanted. There's probably all kinds of new tech stuff that is voice-activitated. :D

I think you would/could handle it! :2thumbsup:...but that would be a hard life, I think.

i do not disagree that theres a natural cycle. but i do think that the evidence suggests that the cycles are changing. lengthening, increasing in severity. even if the cycle is 100% naturally fueled and predetermined, its still bad news for us. well, good news for us, as a species, since so many of the weak and stupid will die off, but a setback, and bad news for the individual. i live up high, who has to flee when sea levels rise? where are all of those refugees going to get their food?

we could live lightly upon the earth, and we could adjust for the cycles without making them worse in either direction. most people like their comforts. most people want to have kids.

i dont even think we should "fix" the environment, i just think we should leave it the fuck alone. the pesticides, and the run-off into ocean deadzones, the reefs, the mountain-topping for coal, the deforestation (and the misguided attempts to stop forest fires, leading to more severe fires in crowded forests) the cloud-seeding for rain, the flushed medication entering our water supplies, the toxic waste and pollution, all the collective nuclear pollution.... if we could just stop making it worse we might just be okay.

but we wont. and we will perish. and the earth will heal with time.

i think im tired, and should sleep. <3

It was not something that could be seen when the pic was taken. I have a digital camera and as soon as I looked and saw that in the pic, I took another pic and the orb, the circle you speak of, did not appear.

So, that pic was 1 of 2 pics I posted at some point...well, I sent the pics in an email to a friend and he posted them for me.

BBAD later helped me get one of the pics posted for my sig pic...and he chose the one with the orb. :)

GraySocks was totally solid gray where he didn't have the white "highlights". I originally thought I could see a face in the orb, which sort of flipped me out.

Well there isn't really a debate as to whether we are experiencing climate change, the debate is to whether we have caused or contributed to that change.

I hate anxiety... I feel like shit this morning and I'm going to have to hope that I can force myself to eat something so I don't pass out later.

Blah. Oh well, today will be over soon.

dishes done early today....junior not here so there was less of a pile

if i was to use the same cup and spoon all day i would have way less dishes...its just so easy to reach for a clean mug 9 times throughout the day instead of search the house for the recent one

discuss quietly among your selves....or is it ''amongst''

    discuss that too

    get back to me:)

tyrson....hoping you arent pinned under a 400 pound blade in your driveway?
