Gotta try and figure EI shit out today.
The timing is interesting, having just quit this week...a claim came through from the summer where I took a sick leave. I guess I wasn't technically hired back during that time but was 'on call'. So if I send them in all my hours since Aug, I might just get a nice lump sum. It wouldn't be for much but if it covers what I owe Rogers then I'd be friggn' happy. This will also make me eligible for training programs.

Hub is still loving his new job. His French is coming back like a mofo. Networking all over the place. And he's already picked up a side-job project. It's been a long time coming for him to get back on track career wise, but it's finally falling into place.

We came from this misinformed generation that said 'Become a teacher! You'll have a great job for life!' and not only were we mislead, we developed entitlement issues about it. Took a while for the hub to realized the 'big job' was a lie and then to get over it and accept that it will be a career of contract work and that means hustling.

I'm hoping the programs he went through with Goodwill and EI will help me get my shit together too. I need it.

we had some snow last night, supposed to be mid-50s today, mid 60s tomorrow. i have a few pallets to take apart, and i suspect it will not be an easy task.

I collect pallets too....my printer has these paper pallets that are solid tops...no gaps....and really nicely sawn and nailed................

I been collecting them to burn but they are so nice now I am saving them to make omething...maybe a better chicken coop

each one could be an nice ''rustic'' table top

sometimes I wish molo was my neighbor

btw....left for town in my car and returned in my mechanics truck....I need a wheel bearing...damn

Pallets are really popular right now for using as art. Pretty amazing what some people create. [IMG]

hard to take apart clean..they use cheap strong nails that break easy when you pull them plus the wire turns into a barb because they usually use air nailers

really bad for airtights with grate and under draft with ash tray but burn awesome on a bed of ash in a regular woodstove

best ones usually come from the milk place...they use hardwood instead of the weak shit and no chemicals soaked in

hate to force it off.. might have no choice.

few different backings to shower/tub faucets and Im not trying to make it more work or cost more money.. but looks like thats the way its going to go.
cant place the last 2 piece of surround in til I get this off. may need to take baths til I figure it out.. :(

im planning on making a dry sink/ cabinet for my kitchen. it doesnt have to be super-neat, i like rustic / primitive. it just has to be able to hold stuff. the pallets i have are already cracked around the nail-holes.

i think im going to make manwich for dinner. i like to use a can of black beans and less meat when i make it.
