out in the boonies and my car decided to veer off into the cat tails and make a snow angel

doors are high though so no wings

luckily the person i was visiting was able to come pull me out because that would have been an awful tow bill

Oswego is right on Lake Ontario. I've visited there I've never seen a town get such snow. The Lake Effect is insane.

when the lakes are warm, yes. This is why having a warm fall sucks. The lakes dont cool off enough. thus evaporation occurs as the chilled air mass passes over them and wham. super snow.

We got a blizzard here. The wind is still whipping away outside, but the snow is winding down. Oh well, I got the day off from work, and tomorrow too. Yay for a 4 day weekend!!

well real reason is the plow guy decided to use his side wing to make the road surface "appear" wider than it actually was

by the time i felt it sucking me in it was too late

my entire route to the ferry has a false shoulder...i hit it the first winter i lived here and needed a tug out too....they move it way back to try and control the drifts otherwise the drift closes up the road because the space between shoulders isn't wide enough to accept the wind....the snow just stays in the road....

.i drove by some 8 foot piles on one side of the road and 1 foot ones on the other side just because of the drifting

watching a show on pbs about villages in England...

    Penelope Keith's Hidden Villages Cotswalds

Penelope uncovers the region's rural history, when it developed as a centre for agriculture and crafts, forging customs and industries which have continued into the present day.

All I can think about is turning one of those huge containers with a snap top into a cat house. lol I've had one out there for going on 2 years from when I originally got it ready for Princess to have her babies. :p Turns out Princess was fixed. :D Anyway...I never did cut the hole for Princess...I just had the container ready...I've also seen where people get one of those (cheap) thin insulated coolers and put that inside the plastic container and then line those things. Sounds right and excellent really.

I should have already had a cat house fixed.

I'll cross the spay etc bridge with Miss Kitty when I come to it. I wish she'd go home. my god. In the meantime I'm going to set her up in a cat house with a hole cut in the side covered in tape, etc.

Yes, I'm calling her Miss Kitty. :hearteyecat: I'm not striving for originality...just something that can be remembered.

Our plow guys do a similar routine. They lift the plow blade with wing up an inch and hover/skim across the road.
I've seen quite a few tire tracks going into the dich on the far sides.

I asked the plow guy why he does this. He said that it keeps the roads from getting gouged up and less repairs in the spring.

Meanwhile....... homeowners are having to fix their property in the spring. Hmmmm.
