It did. I could by several decent monitors now for what my mom paid for it back then. (it was her monitor, we got it a few years down the road when she upgraded.

 

My laptop screen has finally died, so now the laptop is basically a desktop plugged into another monitor.

i would go downtown for lunch but i gots no money...and this town isnt big enough for a downtown and an uptown. its like you could be standing downtown and ask someone how to get uptown. and that person would say "go to the end of that block there, cross the street and stop after 2 buildings when you get to the fire department, and then you will be there."

 

There are a few restaurants downtown here. We've been waiting for the nicer weather to spend our money going out to eat though. I'd much rather sit on a patio.

We don't really have an uptown. Downtown and downertown(EOA) and the two mall districts.

I got no money either. I won't be buying lunch, I'll be bringing it to my husband. But I may geocache while I'm down there.

 

Canada post just raised the price for domestic mail from 63 to 85 cents. I assume it will keep jumping significantly as less people have a need for mail.

Yeah, it used to go up a cent every year or two. When I was working in an office a few years ago it was less than 50 cents, if I remember correctly. They are also talking about getting rid of delivery to the door, and installing community mailboxes to cut costs. People are pissed about not getting the mail to their door, but then complain when the price goes up... have to have one or the other as the system is used less - more expensive or less service (or a bit of both).

 

ive been to a few nice paces lately.......the gap between groceries vs eating out is ever growing...........81 dollars for 3 of us to eat burgs at ''the works'' last week...we all shared an appetiser

the appetiser btw was deep fried breaded bacon strips

but thanks to places like ebay and amazon more people are shipping big packages...have the rates on that stuff changed?

 

Yay!!! Now we can pay more for them to fuck up my mail!!

 

I think that amazon has a special deal worked out with Canada post where they pay less than most consumers. I don't really ship packages, so I'm not sure what's happening with that.

 

Business' of various sized get various discounts.
My friend ships internationally a lot and they gave her a 10% discount card, so I imgaine the big corps are getting a really good rate.

 

my ex wife owns a mailing business....when corps need to send a letter to all 400 thousand customers in for example...western Canada...they hire lucy to do it...
