It feels surreal. For a bit today I felt kind of weepy as it is like it was yesterday and yet it is also so long past now and never coming back. Really strange feelings. I get to do it all again on Tuesday as Kieran turns 20.

I should just think of it as only they are getting older, not me.

So I was freaking out 'cause I needed $1000 bucks by tomorrow. $530 to renew insurance the rest for other bills. Insurance had just been cancelled on the 11th because we simply didn't have the $$$ on hand because of how much it cost to add my daughter and her new car. So I was also freaking out because of no insurance the financing would get screwed up, DMV bitches, etc. I called but they said there wasn't anything they could do.

I check my e-mail this morning and there is an odd message from the insurance company saying my payment schedule has changed???

I log into my account and there are new notations saying my policy was renewed on the 16th????
I check the details and it says something like "customer service representative forced" meaning that somebody overrode the system and reinstated my insurance even though I didn't pay the premium yet. first payment isn't due until Oct 10th.
I did tell the woman I talked to that I had been there many years and always paid the premium in full, but when it went up $1400, it was a little tougher.
I guess she had a supervisor look at my account and decided it was worth it to keep me as a customer rather than risk my going elsewhere. I have 0 tickets and 0 accidents in the last 30 years, so I'm a decent risk for them.

Then when we checked the business mail there was a check for $540 in there.
Sweeet!!!! all bases covered that needed to be!

Fork truck driver backed up and hit the wall right where the emergency stop button is....every machine shut down which in total is about 100 gearboxes worth.

 

Wow, Broncos got away with one in this game by the sounds of it. Can't wait to watch the replay later. sounded like a bad game on the radio but then it sounded really exciting at the end.

 

Saw a little. The broncos were getting hosed on a few calls then manning threw a pick 6. It was looking like this just wasnt their night. I was surprised to hear they won after what i saw.

 

Two TD in 9 seconds. Cardinal SIN by Chiefs rb fumbles while playing for OT and returned for a TD.

From the radio calls, bias I know because was a Denver feed, sounded like refs weren't siding with them on anything. =\

 

im sure hubby will give me the run down on it when he gets home.

as to the surveys, i screen out of a lot of them too. i luck out on baby-related stuff, and having young children. i did a radio station one, a few video game ones, a few political ones.... some food products, several insurance ones... they start running together.

the only ones that make me irritated are the ones that take all your opinions, and screen you out at the end. but ive almost earned another $10, and i mostly took today off, with the doctor appointment and just needing to let my brain recover. im starting to think in survey opinions.

 

im imagining you serving dinner and asking everyone if they would be served that meal again

one was for a product that i want YESTERDAY. im going to be pissed if its not on the market in the near future. i was very helpful with my input. im no average dummy.

Heat.. We don't have fleas and ticks here even though Missouri forests are famous for their tick populations. We have free-range chickens and they eat bugs all day long. If you live in a city, though.. that probably isn't good advice. heh.

There is an organic method that kills almost any bug. Diatomaceous earth. It's a naturally occurring substance a bit like pumice powder. It works by cutting the outer shells of insect bodies. You can safely treat all your animals with it... just do it outside so you don't breathe much of the dust. And then pour a thick layer all around the outside of your house. If you have carpets on the inside, you'll need to use it there, too, to kill the flea eggs.

The only problem with Diatomaceous earth is that it loses effectiveness when wet. So, you'll have to retreat the yard every time it rains until your insect population is gone.

 

I've used the Diatomaceous Earth here with good results.

Anyone who uses it must get FOOD GRADE. Otherwise you really will mess up your lungs.

I put it in the pet food I make because it's good to kill internal parasites.
