I equate a big vet bill to paying 1500 dollars to fix a car worth 250

my dog is the first ive had thats really mine, from a puppy. so we did a monthly payment to the vet, covers check-ups and her spay, from last summer. also all of her vaccinations are covered. its been a good deal.

and while we all want our pets to eat whats good for them, my dog also eats copious amounts of grass and leaves, wood from sticks, plastic dog toys, cloth dog toys, underwear, boogery tissues, electrical cords, condoms, string... shes under 20 pounds, and full of all kinds of garbage. they can actually survive eating a lot of things.

    going to the library.

Oh you can look online for lists of stuff that can be bad and good for dogs. But funnily I've had dogs all my life and no they don't come with instructions but they are very resilient. If a dogs could survive my tempestuous youth they must be resilient! They are omnivores. I have always fed my dogs commercial dog food, as I said before, the best quality I could afford, it pays off in the long run. I don't believe in the new theory of feeding dogs raw meat. That's a wolf's diet not a domesticated dog's diet. Dogs evolved scavenging off man's garbage heaps and man cooked his meat, thus the dogs got cast off cooked meat. A good friend of mine was a proponent of the raw diet and had a beloved dog die from eating raw meat. I know that's just one instance but well I've just had good luck with dog food. I do give vegetables and fruits and vitamin supplements (supplements for dogs). I love my dogs and they are members of my family so I would and have spent money at the vet. Then I've had vet's that would barter for service. All the dogs I've shared my life with have life long, full and healthy lives. So I think I can speak with some authority. One more thing, I don't know about where you are but there are feed stores that sell the vaccinations or they did, it's been some years since I've vaccinated my dogs that way but it was a big savings. It might pay to check it out.

    And yes, Rollingalong, I'm old.

    see how I did that?....makes the posts easier to read[for me] and looks better....many many people[only me] skip those huge posts with no spaces:}

dogs actually do come with instructions now.....there is a hundreds of great pyrenese/maremma sites out there....

Corn is a poorly digested "filler"
    that causes allergies.

    MYTH

You may hear that a plant-based ingredient such as corn is a "filler" that shouldn't be included in a pet's diet because it is poorly digested and can cause allergies.

    The facts
Corn is an excellent source of many nutrients.

    • "Fillers" may be defined as feed ingredients with little or no nutritional value. Based on this description, corn is certainly not a filler.
    • Corn provides a good source of carbohydrates, protein and essential fatty acids in the diets of dogs and cats.
    • Corn can be found in many forms, all of which can contribute to nutritious diets. For example, corn gluten meal contains 60% to 70% protein and is an excellent source of essential amino acids. And whole corn or corn meal provides highly digestible carbohydrates as an energy source.
    • Corn is a good source of linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid required by both dogs and cats.
    • It also contains abundant amounts of antioxidants, such as vitamin E and beta-carotene.

I dunno wyld.... seems some disagree

I cant fucking believe I just saw a bearclaws commercial specifically toting them as a breakfast snack for children

don't feed your kid a breakfast snck...feed them actual breakfast...then they wont need a snack

no wonder there is an obesity problem
