Last update was he was going to the vet today for travel papers and then he would be flown to München so hopefully I get to pick him up in 30hrs I hope but no flight details have been given yet.

Local debate is tomorrow, I'm planning on going. I think it will be very busy and very heated. Our largest employer in town is the hospital (~1900 people), and the government has cut funding, so the hospital is closing 30 beds. Beds that are in use consistently, and much needed. This has already resulted in pressure on hospital staff to get people out of the hospital as soon as possible, even if they would benefit from being there still. I'm very interested as to how the Liberal candidate will justify this, and as to how the PC guy will attempt explain how even deeper cuts to public spending (including firing 100,000 public sector employees) will fix our hospital.

It will also be fun to debate the libertarian candidate as well. I feel bad for the woman running for the Green party, because she was just nominated last week. Basically, they weren't going to run a candidate, but she volunteered. She is an undergrad at my school, and I think that she said she studies Philosophy, and doesn't really seem to have a good grasp on any of the issues. I think that she is going to come out of the debate looking fairly foolish.
