I just went to WalMart to get my oil changed. The oil is clear, I'm not losing any, etc but I know its past mileage time (way past).

Anyway, the dude (Matt) informed me that he couldn't change the oil in my car because when he went to "back the oil plug out, it would tighten back up. Its against our policy to do an oil change when that happens." DAGNABBIT! He went on to guess that "maybe" that means the plug is stripped (huh?) but recommended/referred me to Jiffy Lube and tell them exactly what he said...that the plug would tighten back up the 2 times he tried to back it out. Dude further said maybe the plug just needs to be re-threaded. Does any of this sound right?

FGS! I have the worst luck when I try to just get regular maintainence done on ANY CAR I have.

    ok rant over.

bring it to an actual garage with mechanics...that way if it strips they will be able to fix it

those lube places hire kids who have no idea what theyre doing

It probably isn't stripped if it isn't being used. But if it is, you can rethread an oversized plug easily.

If I were you, I would change the oil yourself but in the parking lot so if there is a problem you don't need to tow it anywhere.

That ^ is exactly what I thought! I've heard several bad things about Jiffy Lube around here. Just because Matt told me "tell them Matt sent you and just what I said" did NOT make me want to run on up there, I promise you. lol

My dear, I can't easily rethread anything except for maybe a sewing needle. If I could I would be glad to change it myself in the parking lot...but even if I could, there is probably a law in this state that would prevent it, cause me a fine and/or jail time. I'm sort of exaggerating about the jail time, but maybe not.

I know in my heart I'll have to get up early Monday morning and take it to a local (nearby) good mechanic to fix this small but necessary and VERY IRRITATING thing.

I'll also LOVE (not) having to pay my local good mechanic probably twice what Wally World would have charged. yay for women and our cars.

Lord, I wish you weren't up in Canada, BBAD... :)

I need tires, too. It (the tire situation) is not real bad, I mean I still see tread; but, I know its time. Believe it or not, I actually do try to get stuff done before it breaks down, tears apart, etc.

OK...I need to think about something else...like the opal earing I lost today. I've torn apart as much as I'm going to in order to NOT find it. gad

This is definitely a character-building day.

You're right, of course (about BBAD, anyway) :D

    Are you talking about 4:30AM?!?

Is this to help Captain get a routine with his "business"?

    no

but i sure wish i did

i have no room to keep stuff without the city people bothering me ..i have to keep most of my treasure at a friends place

i dont go to junk yards much...if i need a part i like to just find a whole car and buy it so then i get what i need for free and sell the rest of the parts to make money..then take whats left to the scrap place for metal value
