Chatastrophe..

My granddaughter's 8th Grade Formal is in about 10 days.

Her stupid boyfriend hasn't asked her yet because "he can't figure out a good way to ask me".

I want to :smash: both of them.

 

I don't think I ever asked my girl to the formal and vice versa. Think that was just a given. but we did need permission to take a female partner and I needed parental consent because when I went to hers, I was only 15 and that school year was 18.

Don't worry, I still had a few drinks at the party. 3 cans of rum I remember, and I was staggered walk home.

how much is Canadian maple syrup in Germany?....it is funny because If I saw german maple syrup I would totally want to buy it and try it

It's not a very big bottle at all. I think it's Jakemans?
Kind of glass sized bottle where you don't actually want to use any because you use some and the. Only half the bottle is left. I made some awesome fluffy waffles on the weekend and with the butter and syrup and bacon I used a fair amount lol.

I also make waffles now just to eat later in the fridge they go down pretty well re-heated.

Waffles are good. My cheap waffle maker doesn't get hot to make them crispy but I've started to mix my egg whites in my kitchen aid and this makes them much more fluffy and prone to crisp. Taken me a few weeks but finally nailed a recipe that works.

I never thought bacon and maple syrup would work together.

try taking half a bacon strip and wrap it around a pitted date.....do 15 of them and bake'm at 350 for near 30 minutes until they look browned and done...my god they are so awesome....the crispy bacon outside with the cooked gooey sugary dates on the inside....I highly recommend them

I ended up cutting grass with the push mower on account ride on mower isn't sucking gas

 

wrap your lips around the filler and pressurize the tank

or carefully use a compressor and a rag

sometimes the little flap valves in fuel pump stick over the winter


if it doesnt have a pump loosen the bowl and drain it then tighten it and try again

 

I will try this tomorrow....it was running fine until I changed the fuel line...now I can see big air pockets in the line that I couldn't get out with running it...thank you

I've never had bacon and maple syrup, I remember as a kid, some one had maple syrup, I tried some, but it was awful! Turns out it wasn't real..

 

It was probably "golden syrup" and for 29.8 years I believed they were the same thing.

 

Haha..nope, definitely wasn't that! Some kind of synthetic stuff the used to make..

Lol irminsul..golden syrup, that stuff was made for years just down the road..

 

My grandpa and my dad and uncles used to make maple syrup, lots of it. Tedious process. I was just a kid last time we did this...

Grandpa had a cabin back in the woods, we'd all go spend a couple of nights in the cabin. Their house was just up the road, so it's not like we were in the middle of nowhere...

Anyway, he had 32 spigots that we'd hammer into the Maple trees when the sap started running from them. And hang an old milk jug under each. Keep collecting til they got enough, then get the big boiling pots (huge)

out to boil them in. Story was these pots were brought from the East when the family came here, they are very old and this was handed down over the generations. The men would take turns getting up during the night to stir the

syrup. It was a big deal. We don't do it anymore, like everything else the old ways are going away. The Amish still make it locally now. I still have the big pots, they're damn heavy lol.

Omg I just got the worst text message from a friend and I'll roughly translate it to "hey any chance you can spare some bud". I've never been asked this, but I've always been told and always heard and always listened to "you don't give friends free weed or else it it'll be a habit."
