Stupid birds are eating from my planters... my thai basil is basically dead. I have now strategically placed pointy wooden skewers on the edges of the planter, hopefully that will deter them.

 

I have to keep basil plant inside
I planted a basil plant outside one year
and something ate it took all the leaves and just left a stem :daisy:

 

I have a regular basil plant that is doing well, it is in a little planter that hands further down off of the railing and the birds don't bother it. I might pick up a few more of those type and move my other plants into them before they get too big.

I saw a thing on FB or Pin or whichever aggregate I was looking at where dude had painted his car in chalkboard paint.

I'm now heavily considering this for the hood.

 

egg ...go buy a plastic hawk from crappy tire and put it on the balcony....birds are incredibly stupid and avoid being eaten by plastic hawks

or owls....plastic owls are good too....tsc store near you?

 

No TSCs around here that I know of. Dollarama probably has them though.

The problem is that the birds have a little nest in the roof of the second floor of the building, and their entrance is a few inches from my planters. but maybe I'll try the plastic bird solution.

I watched the vid of Captain Fantastic and the water bowl. It only took 20 minutes of on/off downloading to watch it. lol You were right...it was worth it. He is simply adorable.

I really like his looks too! Of course, he looks like he'd just as soon rip your head off as look at you.

Why is it I LIKE that? I really like it a lot...in my animals and men.
