I am so very sorry that this has happened.

You know, I was standing there in my burned out living room, water from the fire hoses still dripping down from the studio one floor above. The guy that two days before was on my roof measuring the height of the chimney so we could line it with stainless steel. When he said "things happen for a reason" and I was about to flip out because someone said this same thing just a few hours before... But now a week after the fire and I'm beginning to wonder what the reason is...

Not over it, I miss my babies, each was special in their own way. I was just getting the studio the way I needed it for music production. Now all that is gone... What's coming next? I don't know but I'm still here... Erin is still here, she saved my life... for a reason. Otherwise Goddess would not have gifted her to me five years ago.

So many things have happened since that fire that has humbled me in so many ways.

 

You still have stuff to do and we are all glad you're here. The loss of your house, things, pets is hard enough for us to think about and not be able to help you with; but we'd be a dreadfully mournful group if we lost you. :grouphug:

 

Sometimes it is not within our immediate understanding the why and maybe that is how it has to be.

I am thankful that you are still here and that Erin was gifted to you.

Take care of you as there is a reason!

it is not given to us to know exactly where each step leads when we take it, nor which steps yesterday were vital to this reality today. every step leads here. every future step is based on todays reality.

if i remained in VA
if i had not chosen to switch custody

if my husband and i could not overcome our past
if my first, or second pregnancies had been to term
if my third had been one, instead of two, or girls instead of boys

if i had taken "Back to Sleep" to heart, instead of assuming it was safe since i survived being a belly sleeper...

life is full of steps. some we make, others are predetermined, as if we are pushed in a direction, not of our choosing. what comes before any one step should be learned from, and accepted as it is, because it can not be changed. every step to the future should be as deliberate as possible. grieve your loss, and scrape together the pieces to take your next step.
you are a part of my family here, and as such, loved. i know i am not the only one here who will lend an ear (or an eye, as its text) nor are you or i alone in pain and trauma. we all have pain and obstacles. each different doses of pain. i knew a man who had been in a car accident. he was ok from the accident, but as he returned to his car, he passed between the two parked police cruisers . one was hit, pinning him between, and severely damaging him as a whole. he lived every day in pain, and he lived to be a pretty old man. he would walk into his yard bare chested, harvest nettles, and whip himself viciously with them. it was the only thing that took the edge off of his pain. we all deal with our pains the way that works best for us.

i just want you to know that you are not alone. no one should have to suffer alone. if you want a box of vegetables at harvest time, let me know. if you want a blankets or a quilt either made (or carefully selected) with love, you let me know. you tell me, us, what you need. i feel useless sitting here at a keyboard, tell me what i can do to help?

i just noticed that my balls were different colors of green. and when you hover over it it says "Mother's Love is a splendid one to behold"
