the rain let up a bit yesterday, then it rained more last night. its supposed to kick up again today, and be heavy again tomorrow. they are saying another 3+ inches.
i have seen no rainbows, the clouds are really thick when they are overhead, and while usually we have a single cell of thunderstorms, this is like a blanket of rain covering the whole area.

 

the plowing contest is on the island today.....lotsa fancy tractors.....elvis is a celebrity driver

the soil here has a lot of clay. its not going to take much after such little drying time. it probably wont permeate to the aquifer either. its supposed to let up on monday, less rain. tuesday should be dry.

 

Abovetopsecret is a great site. I agree, I can't see any decent god punishing people because someone is smoking a plant. Doesn't the bible say something about all seed bearing plants being fair game. People just like to impose their morality on disasters. They believe weed is wrong therefore god must agree. Usually they say these things happen because of gay people or something equally ridiculous. It's funny because scholars have said that the holy oil given to Jesus by the wise man translates to cannabis.

I would like to point out to the person who made that post one thing, Oklahoma. That's about as Christian as you get, Weed possession can be a life sentence and gays are not welcome. Yet they had tornadoes much worse then our flooding in Colorado. Why is your god doing that?

It has not rained for 2 days here and the ground is still soaking wet. My sister came to visit from college but is now stuck at our house because of road closure.

He is one the best comics ever in my opinion. He could take an everyday thing and turn it into this intelligent rant. Too many comics today rely on just being rude and shocking without any substance to the act. When Carlin did something like the words you can't say on TV sure it was considered vulgar but there was thought behind it. Their was more to the joke then "hey I said a dirty word".
