Anyone help with a question? I bought some grapes and forgot to rinse them before eating. As I was eating them I noticed deep in the bag a grape with some tiny maggots on it. I threw away most of the grapes around it but the others looked fine so I washed them really good.

Now my husband is freaking out because he thinks my son and I ate maggot eggs that are inside the grapes and is mad at me for not cleaning them.
Should I toss the rest of the grapes or keep eating them?

I'd keep eating them, but I'm not terribly sensible when it comes to the cleanliness of grapes. If they are visibly icky avoid them. I never wash grapes.

Are you sure it wasn't mold? Sometimes I notice white mold on some of the grapes, but I just throw those out and eat the good ones. I always wash them too, because most come from Chile and they use pesticides.

I'd likely toss them if there were lots of bugs. Truth is I have no clue. :/

They were definitely maggots. I saw about four of them, one on one grape then about 3 on another. They weren't moving. There was one nasty rotten grape and I think they came from that.

I don't know what to do. Hmm

I'd most definitely toss them, I couldn't eat something if the bag it was in had maggots in.

fruit flies only eat fruit so they're unlikely to carry pathogens.....plus maggots add protein.[IMG]

In my attempts to find a camera I came across an old SD card, so I checked what was on it and it was about 400 frames of a really really bad work-in-progress stop motion video my brother and I attempted a few years ago... it was full of lol and nostalgia.

Ah, righto, different brother we are talking about :p
    Older brother here,
Oldest has the baby. They are getting married early august, ack, I don't know how to dress for a wedding :( Although I've been the flower girl at about five in my younger days, back when I was cute, and did not have super messy hair.

I think if I wear anything besides t-shirts and jeans I look like I'm trying way too hard (if that makes any sense) so I'll probably awkwardly fumble in wearing some weird dress my mom picks out and a giant pile of dreads shoved into a ponytail. I will probably look lolsy, so I'll share the pictures :p

In other news I 100% cannot sleep, and it is sleeping time.
the internet is being awfully entertaining today, I'm not sure is this is good or bad, (good because it gives me something to do while I'm waiting to get tired, bad because it is distracting me from getting tired)

    and I'm very very hungry.
