I prefer places where kids don't have to use interpretive dance to highlight the growing youth knife violence in certain cities. Like Exeter.

I thought London was pretty cool ... so many venues for musicians ... so many organisations for activists ... :)

London is cool. I've travelled the tube alot but never actually been above ground. I know what 50% of the stations look like, but only know what 2% look like overground, outside of the station.

Hurricane Igor hit on Tuesday and I haven't had any electricity since then. The infrastructure in Newfoundland is very poor compared to the rest of Canada, so it's understandable, but I've never been without power for this long in my life.

No lights, no clean clothes, no indoor heating, no hot water.

They said that they'll fix it tomorrow, but they said the same thing yesterday.

I'm posting this on my iPhone.

Try living in Florida, I think the most we've gone without power was over two weeks.

    Malcolm ≠ Michael

Malcolm = Awesome documentary maker * wildlife conservationist * 'Barefoot Bushman' * ...
    = Bloody legend

Does anyone else here rip the ends of their dreads off?

Mine are almost 2 years and the ends are super weak. I try to pick out the lint and notice how loose it feels then yank on it. Usually a half inch chunk of matted hair comes off.

I will never gain length if this keeps happening. Is my hair really badly damaged or something?

I chew on the ends of mine sometime and rip bits off when I am trying to get lint out. Mine aren't weak though, it takes a fair effort to get linty chunks out.

My dreads are freakin' lint magnets, but when I try to pull the lint out, either only a few hairs come out or I can't get the lint out at all. I don't know what to suggest really 0.o

Well I will admit sometimes the ends are super tough to rip off, but I hate seeing a chunk of matted hair hanging by a cluster of straightish hairs.

I think I am going to use some hot oil treatment on my hair.

You could thread some cotton through and pull/sew it up into a more solid bit of dread?

    Hi btw :)

vigilanteherbalist- what do you do for your roots? You dont seem like you do much based on what i have seen you write but they look frizz free.

Has anyone here tried putting aveeno spray conditioner on your ends? It helps a bunch.

Man, I really want to get out and take some photos. Only two more weeks then I'm free to fuck off into the bush, get out and go camping!
