Kransky dog would actually be really nice right now with some cooked onion and bacon filler.

    I just remembered this.

I had both the dogs out together last night and they spotted the raccoon in the neighbors yard. It was all I could do to get them back home.

If that raccoon had even flinched...

It would've been bad since a had a dog leash slip-knotted around each of my wrists.

I'ma walk them separately from now on.

That's just too much power for me. I've got bruised fingers from pulling on them.

Yeah don't do that haha. I'm not a fan of walking two dogs by myself unless they've been trained to heel properly. Once you've got a dog heeling well for you walking the animal is much more enjoyable. I see far too often medium sized dogs just pulling along their owner like a sled. I believe it's a basic necessity to be in control of your dog during walks because if you aren't in control problems will arise if that dog wants to take off. If you have no control of a dog while walking chances are you've got no control with verbal communication either, the dog won't listen to you if it takes off and you want to call it back. I always train my dogs with a slip chain, choke chain, whatever you personally call it and believe it to be the only way to have complete control over your animal. They learn to heel because if they don't they choke themselves and can't breath while walking.

I simply say or utter the noise "UH, NUH" before commanding a stop. That generally makes my pup back off and think twice about disobeying me. If the sounds don't work then he gets checked and "NO!" He's a pretty obedient dog he's just got a lot of spirit and in that transitional phase of his youth where he's trying to get away with anything he can.

One of the dogs is 6 years old and has never been on a leash until I started with her 6 months ago. She's doing well but she isn't under control of voice.

The other dog is 18 months old and has too many people telling it what to do. Again, I'm the only one that walks it on a leash.

The 6 year old dog has a strong prey drive. She's a Plott Hound/Pit Mix. She weighs a little over 60 lbs.

The 18 month old is full blooded Pit and she weighs at least 75 lbs. (at last check).

They do well, even together, but a raccoon is too much temptation.

Leash training takes time and patience. They will get there. That is a lot of dog on both counts to train at the same time. Once trained they will pick up the gait of the other and it will go better. Voice command is the same, time and patience. :)

If any of you can spare some good vibes, I can use them. Thanks:)

Red will pick up her tie out cable ends and bring them to you. I want her to be careful tho cause shes really happy bringing the metal ends and her teeth I worry about. Ill try get some video of that, but much difficult to catch them in the acts when aiming camera at them ..
