I once thought Family Guy was kind of fun.
I don't anymore. It irritates me.
    I like American Dad though.

It poured here all day. I had the triplets here over night. We all went to pick up hubby's x-rays and then went to the orthopedic doc with him.

I'm worn out with the dogs and kids inside all day.

I've finally come to the conclusion that it's okay to do what I really want to do... I've realized it doesn't even matter what I do... I can do something really shitty that I hate my whole life then die... Or I can do something brilliant and creative and just fucking awesome mind blowing shit my whole life then die...?

I can't handle having a job, I don't know what's wrong with me but it just fucks me up mentally... I can't comprehend the concept of working 5 days a week to have 2 days off, it doesn't make sense to me... It never has and that's why I've never been able to keep a job... I just build up so much anger and hatred towards the job until I just snap and quit... I've quit every job I've ever had...

People always say stupid shit like you need to have a job to live, but... how do you really live when you have a job? I don't get it, a job just consumes me... Its all I ever think of, it literally drains me of everything... like really, why do we think we need to follow directions and guidelines in life, the fact that I even exist is insane.. so why do I spend 80% of my waking day doing shit I hate... I do it to make money.. I then spend that money on shit to distract me of how much I hate my life and job... wtf!?

I'm going to be smart this time... I'm not going to quit my job, not yet... I'm making a plan this time, I'm going to start something I've always wanted to do... then when it becomes a reality I can quit my job and put all my energy into it... I want to create more than just a hole in the ground...

    OMG! :D

    Ortus, I've missed you! :grouphug:

I understand what you're saying...I wish you could find a job in a field you really like; but, first deciding what it is you are passionate about - enough to work at it - would make all the difference in the world.

From everything you've said about yourself, it seems to me you like the gaming industry...as in vid games and such. Surely there must be something along those lines you could do and not hate. You just can't give up on it; but, be vigilant and persistent about seeking out job opportunities, like online searching daily.

But it sounds like you are thinking along those lines, since you did say you are "making a plan this time"...

    Apparently, it's doing well.

This doc was a little sketched out because there's not swelling or bruising and he isn't in as much obvious pain as the doctor thinks he should be.

He kept telling us this was an old fracture showing up on the x-rays and that what he did a few days ago was to have probably strained his shoulder.

    I'm like...uh, no.

He's tough. He doesn't bruise and this is not an old fracture. We both tried but I don't think he was ever convinced.

We got a more comfortable sling for him and made an appt for 2 wks from now.

He never mentioned any P. T. or anything.

If he's doing well in 2 weeks we probably won't even go and spend the $50 copay. It almost seemed like a waste today.

    shucks :blush5:

I have a vague understanding of what I'd like to do, not necessarily games perhaps... I love to play them, but creating them may be to technical for me, and drawing is not a talent of mine lol

definitely something creative though... I wouldn't have much input in a gaming career, I want to do something of my own... Essentially I've realized that every thought is a creation and I come up with so many thoughts, so why do I not bring any of these creations to life? Bringing them to life would bring me to life, as we are our thoughts, right? Just the thought of thinking of something... Then turning this thought into a reality in a sense... That is so insanely cool, and that is all I really ever think of... Imagine having a job where you just bring your thoughts and ideas to life, bringing this abstract concept into an actual reality, that sounds amazing...

Right now I create pools, holes in the ground with water, it's all meaningless... I mean, some rich people get to swim now... That's cool and all... But what real impact is it making? Will I live on through these pools that I dig? I hope not... I need to create something with meaning.

Anyways, that's my rant! Time to disappear again :D

I want to gripe about something...it is this damn assbackwards state (SC) and one of the most ignoramous governors (Nikki Haley), whom I did NOT vote for.

I got in touch with the people today about the health care being offered by the government and was reassured that since my name was down on their hot-line before the (supposed) "deadline", I was fine...

Come to find out, the nice lady furthur informed me just to start with that I (we in SC) didn't have to worry about paying a fine if we did not get insurance since "decisions were made in our SC government" and we were not required to get insurance. They never EVER said this plainly locally. I was under the impression that we in SC would have to get the insurance like everybody else in the US. nope...

The nice lady and I continue to talk...I still want insurance...I'm talking catastrophic insurance, whatever has the lowest premiums. She wants to talk about "packages" such as silver, gold and platinum.

"No, I think I just want to know about the one with lowest premuiums" I say.

We talk about what I make ($7.40/hr) and how many hours a week. I low-ball it at 27. (I have less than that this week, but usually work more...I just thought 27 sounded right.)
She and I discuss how I can't say how many hours per week for certain, but she was happy with 27 if I was, so she clicked and figured and decided I would make $10,000+ annually, less than $11,000.

Sit down now...She said my monthly premuiums would be $400 (FOUR HUNDRED) per month...and this is for a non-smoker with no pre-existing conditions.

I was just damn flabbergasted, and said as much to her, but without cursing.

I asked her again, just to reassure myself that I had understood and heard correctly and that she had...and yep

We had both understood each other.

It is our governor that decided we didn't need any federal help or funding with anything, especially insurance. If you have insurance, GREAT! :2thumbsup: If you don't and can't afford it, then you just get "weeded out"...that's the best I can understand. :p The lady did tell me that "If your state had made another or other decisions, then I would be at least eligible for medicade; but I wasn't as things are now."

yay for building character in SC

Well, you express yourself rather well...even if you (nor I!) can understand abstract poems and such. ;)

What I was going to say is to still keep looking for different jobs online...you just never ever know what you will come across...especially since you are the exact right age to get in about any job.

It is actually amazing to this ole lady how young men that present well can get a job about anywhere doing anything. It all has to do with how you present yourself...I've seen some of the most stupid young men get hired for jobs because they were clean shaven and could read enough to complete a job application. lol

My son hell-hated his jobs at Best Buy and Circuit City, for instance. He had a year of college plus an associates degree in computer something. He just kept looking and looking online and finally found an application for an IT job at a nearby university. He had to go through quite the process, applying, going for more than one interview, etc...but it paid off. That was 8 years ago in May, and he loves his job. Still though, he would never have thought he would be doing what he does now, in a very specialized area.

What you want (and need) may be just right around the corner if you just keep looking and have a plan.

Even if you change it, having a plan can be the difference between success and failure.

I think my last reply in the barefeet (Europe) thread may have been my most thought out argument ever. On this site.

I was inspired to read that whole (little, thus far) thread.

I totally agree with you. It's common sense...but the more you wrote and the more the idiot wrote, the better it got. :D

I'm not a bare-footer...hell, I don't even want to wear sandals anymore since stepping on a baby copperhead on the sidewalk in our back yard. lol However, I do understand this barefooting is important to some people, for whatever reason(s).

In every restaurant or store I've ever been in, except for maybe some juke joint restaurant :p if you didn't have on shoes you would be told to leave. period.

All that being said, I still remember my 6th or 7th birthday, and CRYING BAD because my mother wouldn't let me go barefooted. No matter how you look at it, it was at least 50 years ago...so I'm proud of this memory. :D

NO I DON'T WANT NO SHOES MAMA. :bigcry:

I think that was yet another day I got my ass (and legs) switched. Mama didn't discriminate...you could get switched anytime anyday. Public viewing welcome. :p

Oh I agree that people should go bare feet, I do it myself, but I understand when and why I can't. =p
