Lynn I don't think I have shaved my head like this since my mom did it in the kitchen when I was 13 or 14...

IT feels good... and with work its so much easier.

When I move and go back to school I will start growing the hair asap.

Working construction with dreads is very very difficult.

Ive grown my hair out many times in the last 10 years so I know about the time it takes to start the dreads... which is year n half with no cut tell I could start..

I will grow the dreads again. I want to really bad.

I think I'm about done with rabbits. No luck here. Hasn't even been a year and we've gone through 4 now. Our latest, well I was using like square fencing. He was sticking his head through to get some grass. Had been doing it for a few weeks, I just assumed if he'd know his limits as he grew. Well his head got stuck sometime yesterday and obviously snapped his neck trying to free himself. I can fix that problem with vermin netting and encase the bottom with a sheet so they can't pop their heads out but I just don't know anymore. I love the little things, they're so cute and peaceful and they make me laugh with their angry faces sometimes and their attitudes with my dog. They tease him, stir him up. I believe they know when he's in trouble and they do it on purpose. :D

But this is 4 so far, something always seems to happen. =[

Sorry to hear that Irm. It is unfortunate that it happened and hard when you love the little critters.

It's okay hehe. I dare say we'll get another one. :D I've spent too much time, money and effort on this hutch now. I've basically built it from a small housing hutch into its own little pen. It isn't massive at all maybe 2x2m but plenty big enough for a mini Rex rabbit. The front gate of pen opens up into another enclosure surrounded by pet fence. I never let them out too long in case they realize they can jump over, plus my dog roams around but when I am feeding I let the rabbit out to eat fresh grass. I even covered the pen and enclosure with a pergola type shaded plastic and the rain or snow melts down onto the garden bed as I have it angled. It's really cool. =]

So I think we'll get another but it might take time as I like the mini Rex rabbits with erect ears. The looped ears just aren't cute to me and they look stupid. :D but these are what pet shops sell mostly. And I know pet shops are bad but if they grew up in a not nice place then I want to home it and give it the time of its life which I can safely say, once they grow used to the outside, my dog and myself and partner, they happily bounce up to the pen standing on back legs trying to get our attention. :)

I'm just running out of fun names for them.

Has anyone recycled a pet name? :D

never recycled a pet name.. personally I couldn't do it.. each pet is special to me... they live and die with that name..

ive met some families where they father and a son are named the same... I think that's weird..

^ I think I know of what you speak, Aeri :)

I've never recycled a name; but accidentally (or something) called a few pets (cats) by the name of one I had had...often the animal would actually look almost exactly like the other (passed) one and act exactly like that gone one.

Each cat would have their own names, but I have found myself pondering my slip-ups with their names...and I've found myself thinking many times that if I believed humans could reincarnate, then why couldn't animals...

But Irmi, I believe you have enough imagination to come up with more rabbit names. :D Have you had a Jeff Gordon yet?

i want to say something inappropriate about over-population on a thread about the flu vaccine, but its all moms with their "high and mighty, must be right" pants on.

yes, flu kills people. no, i dont get the vaccine. and NO i dont care who dies, my own family included. there are too many people on this planet, we can stand to lose a few. im not an anti-vaxxer, i JUST dont get the flu shot. and that is my choice. but these people just have to be "right" and i dont want to tell a bunch of pregnant women that the planet is overpopulated and they have a skewed view of what they are "saving" people from. i get the flu on occasion, and i get the fuck over it. i let my body do what its supposed to do.

there are other people on the group who dont, same or different reasons, but im the one getting nailed because someone asked me why and i gave them the more pleasant answers. its supposed to be evidence-based, well, theres a shit-ton of evidence that the planet is overpopulated and ant support us, and viruses are one of the only types of natural selection we have left that affect our species. they wouldnt mutate so much if we let them do their thing, stopped tampering with them, but they are a living thing seeking survival of their species too. every time we block them (flu in particular, because its more than happy to mutate) we make it harder for "regular" flu to propagate, so it mutates around the blockage. am i the only person who thinks beyond "i might get sick" whining? if i get sick and die, i fucking deserve it. but when the flu mutates into something really scary, and kills a lot of people, i know i have a better chance of surviving because i havent "faked out" my system. my immune system is fucking ripped.

wax the motherfucker, and deposit straight into my colon.

I have a dog with a name that's not recycled, but outright stolen from someone else's.

Someone called her that in an ironic context, and it stuck, and now it's her name and there's no changing it.

Lol @ Jeff Gordon name. No I've never and a pet with a name like that, all my names are very different from what other people call their pets and they're almost never in English.

I like translating a description or a characteristic into either Deutsch or Norwegian, I very rarely have a name ready chosen for a pet or if I do I have like 5 and then I'll know it's name when I see it for the first time like with my dog.

I've used some of my favorites on fighting fish. =[ Dornenreich, Mythril, Fifeldor, Zyklon, Nephren-Kahn... Rottenreich. Rotty and Dorny both lived in a tank wth a castle. Dorny was a crown fighting fish so he had spike find. Dornenreich was a perfect name for him "thorn empire". Rotty was beautiful red. Red Empire. Zyklon was a dark black and blue, he was also really angry so I gave him Cyclone. Mythy was this beautiful light metallic blue with a mustard color through silver metallic. When he sparked up he turned really dark. The silver reminded me of lightweight chain mail armor, so he became Mythril. Nephren lived in a tank where I was using crystal pyramids as decorations. Black obsidian to be exact. So I chose him a Egyptian name, my first ever. I believe it is a name of a Pharoe in a H.P Lovecraft book but I have never read it. I got the name from a Nike album. :d

And then there was Fifeldor. :) he was the best ever. Fifeldor is a hero from an Anglo Saxon poem from similar times as Beowulf. He isn't very well known at all, but his name origin was literally river, stream, lake etc. or something very similar anyway. Water. Fish. It suited. :)
