    Hello everybody,

I live in the Charleston, SC area. I have been here about 7 years. Originally from Boston, MA. I'm 55 years old and looking for new experiences.

I sure do miss Boston. It seems like South Carolina is pretty far behind the times. I am having a difficult time finding like minded people.

I believe in freedom, psychedelics and open minds.

    Can anybody help?

The winter is harsh in Boston, otherwise I would go home

I love Charleston and have met many cool people from there, but there is probably a generational divide (hope that doesnt come off as insulting, but older Charlestonians are a stuffy bunch.)

Have you spent much time on Folly Beach? It has a cool, laid back hippie vibe.

Hey! I'm rather surprised you find don't find Charleston to be open minded. In my experience it is one of the most laid back, open minded places in the south...

I've never discussed psychedelics with any locals however. lol

Aside from that, the few locals I've known are as freedom loving and open minded as I've met. The 1st gay club I ever went to in 1979 was there, and that was surely a wild high time! :D

Just looking for like minded people. Charleston is great but after Boston it seems behind the times. People in Charleston are pleasant but often insincere. In Boston, there is no facades. People are themselves.

This is not putting Charleston down. It's just my experience.

And no, I'm not asking for drugs, but was hoping to find an activist community that believes in freedom and freedom of speech.

I did a research paper on psychedelics (entheogens) last year for school and after the research it really disturbs me that they aren't being studied and openly discussed
