Might I have a link to that? Not questioning you, just seriously interested in seeing it. That's an awfully artistically written account of the encounter. I understand the "hindsight factor", but it's interesting that they thought of a police escorte AFTER they knew who it was, I assume after the case broke in the news. How many months/years later was this recollection?
I worked for the census last decade in Miami. I would knock on someone's door, and they would think that I was IRS, FBI or INS or they were going to get in trouble somehow by talking to me. And y'all know there are a lot of illegal immigrants down there. So if the door that I was knocking on was the home of an illegal, hell no they weren't gonna open the door. But I never got threatened. Feel sorry for this Sparkman dude. Damn.
