That's the only thing I don't like about my cellphone. My cable company's call center is in India. Whenever I have to call them about some service or billing issue it's always a nightmare, because I can't understand them and they can't understand me, partly because of their accents, but mainly because the reception is so bad. Issues that could be resolved in 3 minutes take 20 at minimum, and you can't have normal conversations with them anyway because they have scripts they have to follow. But that's another issue.

I have been cellphone only for years. Cell internet too. Wherever I park I have phone and net. I like the freedom, the ability to take care of everything I have to do from wherever I happen to be.

I can do some slick shit with a phone, people can find out your carrier and your name then call you and idk...find out too much lol.

In fact they don't even "have to" make the call...name and adress and they know everything else about you.

Everyone's info is out there mine include so be careful I'm surprised my identity is still safe lol. I think it is.

I still have a land line, but only because of my DSL. I don't even have a phone plugged in anywhere, just a DSL modem and fax machine, so you could say I rely solely on my cell phone.

    AceK,

How many public pay phones are left in the city anyway?

    just checked google:
How many public pay telephones are there on City sidewalks?
As of January 2, 2014 there are 9,903 active public pay telephones on or over the City's sidewalks, regulated by DoITT. Of that number, 5,359 are in Manhattan, 1,659 in Queens, 1,691 in Brooklyn, 1,114 in the Bronx and 80 in Staten Island.

there are also sites out there that just list off pay phone #s... hmmm
