Would you rather live with a cat, or a dog, and why?

I live with my dog, Tanga, whom is a Boxer. She's a total babe. She's such a sweet, and caring dog. She's always showing love and support. What about you guys? :afro:

  2. I'd rather live with a cat. I've got two dogs. One of the dogs, I take him for a walk, he poops like five times a walk. I'd much rather take care of a cat box than deal with this shit.

You need a reasonable bit of real estate unless you have one of those miniature foo-foo dogs. Cats require a lot less space than kind of dogs I like.

Dog. No doubt about it. I've had a couple of cats in the past. I like cats but hate cat hair and the smell of cat piss/shit. I'm not a big fan of dog hair either.

Yeah, that's very true. Especially if you live on the third floor of an apartment complex. It does get old after a while.. Haha.

I would rather have both, my best dogs have been raised around cats. :)

Our bigger dog is a great dog for the most part but he would kill a cat in a second. He was just like that when we adopted him years ago. I have no idea why. The people next door to us moved there from a rural area. They brought a bunch of cats with them and just let them roam outside. I politely told her numerous times that my dog would probably try to kill them if they came in my (fenced) yard. Then she got really upset when he damn near killed one of them. The only reason he didn't kill it was because we got to it in time and saved it. Somehow....we're the bad guys in this scenario. But.....no more cats running around outside anymore.

What kind of dog do you have, Wizard? It seems like your dog has had trouble with cats or other animals in the past. Is your dog friendly towards others? My older dog that I used to have was the same way towards cats. But, he wasn't a very nice dog and was vicious towards other dogs, and animals as well.

He's part yellow lab and part golden retriever. If you saw him, you'd think he's the nicest dog in the world. He is....to humans and female dags. But male dogs and small furry animals...not so much. The Humane Society found him roaming the countryside and estimated that he may have been alone and fending for himself for months. It took them 2 days to wash and brush his hair because it was so dirty and matted. We think being on his own for that long is what made him such an efficient killer. He had to feed himself. Makes total sense....male dogs=threat....small, furry animals=food.

Hands down DOG. There will never be a cat in my house!!! We have a pug. He's the perfect size with an awesome personality. He's getting old though. My husband may have a nervous breakdown when he dies.

I've only had cats, but I would like to have a smaller dog. Dogs seem more personable and caring like they'll greet you at the door all happy to see you. They show affection and protect their owners. They also seem fun teaching and to play with. On the other hand they also require lots of time and care and you have to walk them outside in this awful cold winter weather. Of course you hate to clean the litter box, but your ass ain't gonna freeze doing it. Cats are also low maintenance, they will want fresh food and water and then they curl into a ball and sleep. Both are good, funny animals if you take care of them, they will love you back.

Cats can be just as personable and affectionate as dogs if you raise them with the right kind of attention.
To have a really great pet I believe you need to raise them from kittens or puppies

I live with both here....5 cats and 6 dogs and 3 birds, but if I could only have one....CAT wins...I am just a cat person more than dog person....Always had cats in my life.....not always dogs .....I love the dogs I have , though......:)

Both.... And a Crow. Can't forget the Crow.

Anyways I don't have a dog at the moment and only one cat... (2012 rough year for loss) I'm just gonna stay with that for the moment.

I Would Love Another Dog But Currently I Have 6 Cats,

5 Birmans And A Cream Tabby, They Get On So Well It Would Be

Most Unfair Of Me To Introduce A Dog Into Our Happy Little Family...:).

    Cheers Glen.

I have crows too but they live outside in the tree. :) I actually do kind of like those crows.
