We have cats, a dog, and a rabbit buried on our property. In recent years, it's become too physically demanding to dig graves so hubby prefers having them cremated. I've buried a few when he didn't feel like it. We've got the ashes of one cat buried in his favorite spot where he sat by the driveway guarding the property. I only have Skooter (#1)'s ashes inside with me. She was an indoor cat so I keep hers where she came to help me turn off the bedside light every night. I ordered a memorial urn that will be big enough to hold her ashes and my little Sassy's ashes. I'll keep them separate in the plastic bags inside it. It will be here on Friday.
I picked up Sassy's cremains and they are pretty much sealed in a little wooden box. I have no need for the cat memorial urn, which arrived and is actually not that pretty. I'll return it.
This is a little polydactyl (front paws only) kitty I'm fostering for an adopted neice. I know in my heart there is nothing I can do (or I don't think there is) to ease the baby, who is actually a year old, into getting along with Princess. She ran at him this morning outside but he didn't pose any threat nor fight back...he sort of rolled onto his side and just looked at her. She stopped before getting right TO him. I've gone out there several times to pet Princess and slip and pet little Gimli/Gim. Do y'all have any suggestions?
They will work out the pecking order. Cats are very dramatic but once the hierarchy is established they will be fine.
The cheap flea treatment that hubby bought last month didn't work at all. The Advantix wasn't even working on the dog. Nothing seems to be working well on the fleas. I read this https://richsoil.com/flea-control.jsp and I think I'm going to try his method. He doesn't even put the poison flea treatments and collars on his animals.
That is such a great article, I even bookmarked it...something good and informative (and well-written) to go back to on this most hated insect, the flea. LOL! :hurray:
The smallest feral kitten, one that is the age that Sassy was, let hubby pet it today. That's always such a victory~
Willow went missing today and I feel like I'm about to go insane crying. He's only been outside for a little while for the past 3 or 4 days, with us watching him. He was in the front yard and then he was gone. I'm really about to lose my mind.
Meezie had 3 kittens in March/April. One of them is super affectionate at the window over the kitchen sink. It's let me pick it up and hold it and love on it lately. That's very good for a feral cat that's over 6 months old.
