Here is Ozzy, formerly named Bass - like a fish. He is one of the two I took in when my daughter couldn't keep them.
13 years ago I adopted 2 feral 6-month old feral kitties (sisters). To this day, after all these years, I am the only human they can stand being around. Anyone else is over and they just hide hide hide away. Then as soon as company leaves, there they are again. Cats are weird.
Look what the kitten faerie brought me today. I named her Rainy. It was out by my porch, soaking wet and screaming when I got home.
The little booger is sucking down some formula today. It's a fighter. After it's full it keeps rooting and nudging around until it can plant its muzzle against mine or hubby's lips. That makes it happy.
OH MY! That's something else...having such a baby abandoned like that. It looks like you have a tuxedo cat there...they happen to be almost my favorite...they seem stronger and smarter or something. lol I surely wish you luck. Its good he's (?) taking down that formula, and moving around, nuzzling and all. :sunny: Do you wet a paper towel or something to simulate the mother licking its belly to stimulate its intestines and all? I know some would say eww but I know you've been around enough cats and kittens to know exactly what I'm talking about. ps...with the feeding schedule, especially if he's to survive...I know you have your hands full. Blessed be.
Lynn, it's not a tuxedo cat. It's strangely mixed. The head has the dark hair and the back is light grey with dark streaks going vertically. More pics later. I do stimulate it to potty and it finally had a bowel movement. It's seem to be a perfectly normal kitten. I think the rain storm caused the mom to drop it, or it wriggled out from under the porch in the rain. It's been raining all week so there's been no opportunity to sit it out and see if she will come for it.
Good luck with that tiny kitten...at least it was dropped off to a caring person.......and not to someone who did not care......
I've taken in Coon Tail's litter of five. Coon Tail is very thin and doesn't look well. The kittens were crying and she didn't go to them. One of them had a big swollen tick on it's leg. They are happy with the formula I gave them and Rainy is happy to welcome them to the warm, soft box. They may be about a week younger than Rainy. This is one of Polka's litter of 4. They are doing well with her.
I had to bathe all Rainy and the other 5 kittens after feeding them this morning. They had gotten poop on themselves. I imagine that will be the norm for a while. One of the new kittens had fleas but the others did not. I thought that was strange. That may be the same kitten that had the tick on it yesterday. I was not wanting to even think about dealing with fleas yet.
Awww, that's great that your helping them I don't see very many stray cats here. I do on ocasion tho but, they for the lost part run away lol My mom has 4 birds and 3 cats. She may very well do that too
I've bathed 6 kittens twice today and I'll probably have to do it again before bedtime. Then there are towels to wash because they shit all over the ones in their box and the towels it takes to dry them. The newest 5 have gunk in their eyes. Their eyes have started to open but some of them are gunked shut.
My wife and I just adopted an adult stray female a few days ago, which had been hanging around our apartment complex. She is such a sweet baby!
