Opposite here, I've found it makes me horny and improves my performance and feeling of reward.

Exercise also increases my libido. Especially with a lady who's been exercising and is sweaty! :-o

I wonder if it's related to dosing. Like, enough to get ya going versus so much that ya start to question yer ability to keep it together. It seems some people think that if a little of something is good, then more must be better.

It's almost impossible as it is for a guy to turn down a gal who is doing all she can to initiate sex with him, and this stuff drops his defenses even more.
Unless perhaps if he's had so much that he's going paranoid.

Smoking normal tobacco will damage your brain!

(mates mum, went to doctors, aneurysm)
After brain scan images were returned she met with the specialist whom she had never met before, he said, oh, you have a smokers brain.

    she quit.

And then there was this guy on TV, I think he was the world's oldest man at the time if I recall correctly, but he was well over a hundred, had his wits about him, and one of his habits was smoking a cigar every day.

It would seem there's no universal conclusion.

I do not know what a "smoker's brain" is, but I don't believe tobacco has the same neuro-psysiological (or psychological) effects as does tobacco. For one thing, I think the byproducts of smoking tobacco are water soluble, and so flush out of your system, whereas cannabis is loaded with lipid soluble compounds that accumulate in lipid-rich nerve cells. Both tobacco and cannabis are toxic, but in very different ways.

Well that's what I mean by dosing - per individual tolerance.
When I compare my dosing to friends, I find that I'm satisfied with a much smaller amount. In some cases it feels like 1/100 (observationally, not measured). What's proper for my contentment is what I have to go by. I feel like if I were to smoke like my friend, I'd be a zombie. But that works for him, and he's a highly functioning individual. He might not even notice the amount that sets me right. And we've both been smoking it for about fifty years.

Speaking of I don't think so...
Yellow, cavity-eroded teeth, and an underweight body? What are you taking about???

Just because someone doesn't notice a change in their brains, that's far from proof that no changes are occurring. Not suggesting it is it isn't, just that if it did there's no assurance you'd notice.

In my experience it is. I've been smoking pot for fifty years, my teeth are as good as the best of em for my age, I have to be cognizant of what I eat and exercise to stay fit else I'd easily be overweight. Plus, I don't know anybody who's had those effects you described from smoking pot. So yeah, it's hard to get. :)
I think these friends of yours are likely to be additionally into other substances causing those effects.

What question of mine did I just answer? :flushed:

Below is a reminder of the exchange.

All your justifications here for defending your position implying pot smoking damaging teeth and becoming underweight are outlining unrelated causes.

So no, nothing here to make it easier to "get it". In fact I'll make a direct counter claim that pot smoking has absolutely no effect on the deterioration of teeth nor causes one to be overweight. (Actually, in contrary, it seems to stimulate the appetite)

I don't envy you for your choice of friends! Not that you seem to know them well at all if you don't know what other substances they're into.

I also take issue with your generalization that "Most people don't take care of their oral health." Most people I know do! We are both making subjective claims on this, not objective truth, as definitions would have to be established before we can judge this objectively. But I see no evidence of your statement being true.

There are scientific reports of adverse affects in people with schizophrenia. The psychoactive reactions conflict with medicines designed to provide for more linear thinking and self-control.

I happen to like cannabis, and recently told my doctor (psychiatrist) that I think frequently of using cannabis. He asked me why.

The honest answer is I don't actually know. I quit per his direction in 2017 some time, and though I relatively consistently look back with fond memories (I took edibles every night for a year or more, and in 2011 was a smoker) I don't typically miss it too much. I just remember it, and I guess that's why I'm sometimes tempted to revisit.

I think often enough cannabis is thought of as less serious than other drugs. The truth in my estimation is cannabis won't kill you outright, but it's very powerful nonetheless. It's your lungs that you should really consider when it comes to this.

Any time you inhale smoke your making yourself a prime candidate for things like COPD and lung cancer, right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Why would you trust prescribing psychiatrists and the pharmaceutical industry, in cahoots, to get you to try their drugs?
How many have you tried, and what effects did they have?
And have you tried cannabis as a replacement to the commercial antipsychotics? (as opposed to in addition)

Smoking, it's going to depend on quantity and frequency what accumulating effects it will have on your breathing apparatus. I can report no ill effects but I'm careful and conservative with consumption.

They don't seem remotely related, to me.
I see a world of difference between the mental health "science" and principles of vaccination.
They don't have you try a different vaccine if the ones before it failed to work on you, do they? I haven't heard of it anyway.

Because the federal government still considers it an illegal substance, researchers have their hands tied. I can only confirm that it works well for me.

It's kind of sad that the government hasn't realized yet the amazing benefits of cannabis in treating medical conditions. As opposed to many classic sayings it can be greatly effective when trying to fight PTSD or anxiety. Of course there are the ones who blame it as a gateway drug and all these known nonsense. The actual quality on the streets is what have made cannabis look like the devil that wants to destroy us. If you actually get high quality marijuana products, you are more than safe and it doesn't even become as addictive as the mixed dirty street stuff that junkies usually do. So for me the medicinal cannabis prescriptions have been working out greatly!

Why do you say that? It's not the government's place to realize anything, they need to rely on input from the medical, scientific, and business research community. Then they choose the most popular input, i.e, that perceived most likely to keep them in power.

That said, there are increasing numbers of authorities easing their restrictions on marijuana freedom thanks to pressure from the public, groups like NORML, and prison reform advocates.
