Ironically enough, the day after I placed the order I actually stumbled into a lead on seeds, maybe even clones for a local, "super-potent" strain through a friend of Mrs. Kats though it may take a month or so to get down there to see them and actually take it for a spin.
Though if I can score some free or cheap bulk seed I'll at least be able to try my soil mix out before popping my $50 beans in the dirt.

I'm finally back from the hospital. It's not covid, but it probably wouldn't have been as serious if it were.

On New Years Day I started getting a stomach pain which grew worse despite any attempts to relieve it. It finally got so sharp that I drove to the nearest hospital. Scans showed that I had a blood clot in my portal vein, which provides blood to the liver. While most of my liver wasn't affected, a portion of it wasn't getting enough blood and became injured. So after giving me injections of a pain killer and anti-nausea medicine, they started me on a regimin of anti-biotics and blood thinners, provided by IVs.

Now after 12 days I was finally sent home with oral blood thinners and antibiotics, which I'll be taking for at least the next month. But that's the easy part. The hard part is I have a catheter inserted into the damaged part of my liver to keep it drained of bad fluids. The other end of the tube is a drainage bag I need to carry around with me. This will also last at least a month!

They tell me the clot is slowly dissolving and the blood flow back to my liver is improving. But I'm still in for a long recovery. Still, I want to let you know I intend to fully beat this!;)

I appreciate it. The whole thing irks me though. I've never been a heavy drinker and never had hepatitis, so I didn't think I'd ever have liver trouble. Now I have to go through this ordeal knowing there's a small chance I might never be able to drink again. Damn. Thank God I can still smoke pot!

A friend had a bunch of old pot he no longer wanted to smoke and gave it to me to make edibles. Of course I have to smoke a little from each individual bag to determine what kind of high it gives; I like to mix stony weed with mellow stuff when I bake. The weed is pretty dry from age so I have to use a water pipe, but even still some of it is pretty harsh.

He gave me seven bags of different kinds of buds from stuff he's grown in his backyard. I've sampled six of them and will try the last one some time tomorrow. Something to do to keep my spirits up while I'm recuperating at home! :yum:

OK so seeds en route & have 1st light to cover a 3.5sq ft area in which I'd like a male & female or two because &^%$ ever paying twice for a specific strain.
For the first crop I'm trying to decide between running a DWC or ebb and flow. Any major reasons why I should add a pump & additional 5gal bucket? I mean is there any great difference in result of crop between systems?

Also I'm reading how the roots can get pretty packed in a 5 gal bucket, is root pruning advisable or perhaps useful as a stressor for the plant to increase trich production perhaps?

It would be better to post this as a new thread in the Marijuana Grower's forum. Marijuana Growing | Hip Forums
