What a magical day! Wonderful photos, and so much history to absorb. And all in one day's ferry ride from home, fabulous! Thank you for sharing some smiles with all of us!
There isn't anything to photograph in Rogersville. Ask Zen he's been there! (Except one of our old houses)
Lovely photos Gal. I see you are still getting around then! And Dublin next! WOW. Never been to Ireland though!
Always wanted to see Ireland. My gran was born there, but raised in Thirsk. Who's the fellow on the first page of pictures, the one with the book? Beautiful pictures. We had a dairy farm when I was little. Some of the cows were Guernseys. They must have come from that region. We sold the Holstein milk and used the Guernsey. It was richer, according to gran.
Just a sculpture. Next visit to Guernsey, I will find the Victor Hugo statue and visit his house. Thanks for viewing x
Victor Hugs was a fabulous writer, but it took him 12 years to write Les Miserables. A masterpiece, though. I know he got exiled to Guernsey but can't remember why he got thrown out of France. I will look it up later if I get the chance.
Turns out Victor Hugo was exiled to Guernsey because he publicly called Napoleon the third a traitor.
