Went in to work today and had to deal with one of the most obnoxious people that I have ever met. Complaints and grievance were totally justified and documentation has been started.

I do not like days like that.

On a positive note, I left right after that and now I am going to forget this morning.

Dealing with dimwit co workers/managers is my forte. You have come to the right place.

This might sound wrong but on more than on occassion i have treated a rude co worker exactly as they have treated me or someone else and they usually lightened up after that.

Sometimes it takes a slap in the face for someone to realize that the way they are acting is wrong.

Tread lightly..

 

As HR I am not allowed to slap people, but.......

Three verbal warning were not enough so documentation is done now. It is really an unpleasant situation for those who have to work directly with him. He is grandfathered and I wish he would consider that he can not walk into the same job anywhere else, let alone with the salary or benefits.

Hopefully it was a wake up call. He is off for the rest of the week without salary and next week we will see.

I hate this part.

When i read that ur HR i was like whaaat.

What do you mean hes grandfathered? like he cant be fired or what?

 

He is in a professional position and because of his knowledge he has a salary that is standard for the position but he has no degree or certification. He has been with the company for 28 years and worked his way up. So if he left he could not get that job somewhere else as he has no degree. Very smart man but he does not want to play well with others.

I did document it today and if he chooses to not follow that up or to continue to disrupt the rest of the team, he will be terminated. I only have to document him once more to make it legally a justified termination.

I am really hoping that it does not have to come to that and a few days off will help him to see that. If nothing else hopefully self interest kicks in as he can retire in a few years and retain full benefits.

 

i finally got through to that idiot with car for sale.that doesnt answer phone or emails...i broke down and left a message on the answering machine (i cant stand those things)

anyways...ill probably buy it..going to check it out tomorrow
