Most people dislike Jim Parsons


The whole premise of the show is he is self centered and rude but somehow people put up with it. Most people would never call a person like this a friend and dislike the concept of a comedy like that. It is definitely basic comedy even though they are all smart on the show.

 

honestly ...this will probably piss some people off but im so tired of every show having gay characters or gay actors

and thats part of what i hate about that show

 

I wonder if that is what Burt Reynolds use to do as his looked just like that for years.......:rofl:

I always liked him as he seemed like a stand up kind of person. It is good that he is still able to do what he likes to.

 

there are no gay characters on big bang....

hate to say it bbad........that attitude is actually considered the h word by millions of people......

we all should be embracing the appearance of gay characters on mainstream tv at the rate they've been appearing....who gay themed comedies etc etc

So because he is gay he has less of a right to work in the industry? Are you new to show biz? Allot of gay people in it. I remember as a kid when it was a huge deal Ellen said she was gay on TV. That was the mid 90's and since then I can only think of one show Will and Grace where the characters being gay was a big point of the story.

he plays an extremely heterosexual dude....he plays the scientific definition of heterosexual tbh

i can understand where hes coming from. nowadays EVERY show seems to have gay characters, or actors. i thing you have to pick one at a time to be frustrated about though. as far as actors, there are gay doctors, and lawyers, and teachers and and...you cant begrudge someone a job doing what they do for that. NPH plays a straight guy pretty well. as long as someone is a good actor, and plays the part, i dont care what they do in the bedroom. i like Jim Parsons, because i like quirkiness.
now, the character presence thing does bug me a little. not just because they go "ok, heres a group of white people, add in a melanin character, and a homosexual. there, cast complete" i hate forced diversity. i like diversity, just not the fakey forced character they tend to add. and its usually a certain type of gay, or lesbian. flaming, or sexy.

i do think it will even out though. there was a time when you saw very little melanin on tv. and then they flooded the market (to a point, im not saying its the same ratios or anything) and then it receded. now they feel easier about having a black character, and also can be okay with leaving a melanin character out, if it doesnt fit with the story. so im okay with the current flood, because it will taper off.

right now its a thing, it wont be forever. you will always have "diversity" characters. a good show distracts you from casting decisions with good storyline.

oh, and with online access, people are getting away from "watching whats on"
i watch the shows i really enjoy, i seek them out. the ones that are grade-B i watch when im caught up on other shows. if they want to keep me as a viewer, they have to do a good job for me. im actually a more avid watcher of youtube now than tv. i love the videos from channels im subscribed to. when i see a new video i watch it IMMEDIATELY. really great content. content im interested in. content delivered TO me, because i WANT it. that is phenomenal. i even watch videos about math. because its good content.
