I don't see why people look down so much upon illegal immigrants.

You know how you fix that? You make 'em all legal! Hey, how about that? Reform the tax system while you're at it... so that people don't get tax returns. Then... the economy will be saved. Of course it ain't that simple, but... isn't it a pretty idea? A tad more logical than banishing them or persecuting them.

The fact that you were born on this certain piece of land does not mean that you are superior to an immigrant to this piece of land.

They don't "steal" jobs. They help employers to save money by doing the jobs for less. Why do they do it for less? They aren't paying taxes on it! I could also survive off $6/hr untaxed!

 

It is cool, the multiculturalism that is evolving, I guess, to get down to the point for me, is when laws are being bent (like trying to wear a full covering burka to the polls, thats why I mentioned that originally), or people being afraid to carry on traditions because of the fear of offending someone. Do you know how hard it is for an illegal Mexican to get a Greencard? The waiting line is longer than 100 fucken years. What should they do while they wait, go back to wherever they're from and have a bloody Sneakers bar to hold them off until they starve?

No one is trying to "suck up every ounce of America". Where do you get these ideas? Do you know a lot of illegal business executives? Those sure could suck up some American money.

WTF? Are you serious? It takes a great deal of work to become an official citizen of this country. It's not like people walk off the boat and are repatriated. You need to take a citizenship test, which just this past year most Canadians off the street have failed. They have to memorize the national anthem in both languages - and not to mention they've got to push around a shitload of paperwork and cough up a small fortune before they ever become citizens.

Some of the attitudes in this thread explain why people hate Americans.

 

If they are that dedicated to becoming an American and coming to this country to live "the American dream" (whatever that may be anymore), they'll wait in that line and they'll take those steps.

I speak of the jobs in the sense of my friends husband...who was a carpenter and had lost his job because the Mexican illegal could do the work that needed to be done cheaper...with the credentials of a first grader who has only played with building blocks his whole life. I understand that some of the jobs they do aren't anything most educated Americans would do. But when it comes to trade jobs especially...a lot of people are losing jobs to them.

I say they suck up the American system because they are working without paying taxes, they get these crazy college discounts...when you get someone like me who has been working their asses off to make money...paying the taxes, paying the umpteen million dollars for an education...while these people (the bad ones that won't get citizenship), laugh because they're living high off the hog with their tax free, free education life! It's ridiculous!

And the only reason I'm so against it is because I worked with about 25 of illegals where I used to work....then that huge scare went throughout the country where they were picketing and rioting and all of these illegals "disappeared." Come to find out, they were cheating the system. I'm not sure of how because management wouldn't tell us...but they were illegal...doing illegal things...and eating up the system.

No one is going to wait in line until they are over a 100 years old. They have to come into this country illegally in order to give their children and grandchildren a better chance at the future. It's actually very noble, when you can look past the skin colour.

A person with a trade job could get a job in many places. Plus, he could easily sue his previous employer for firing him and hiring illegals or turn him over to the authorities.

Not all of them get free education and so on, but I think that it's wonderful that their children do. I don't see anything wrong with educating children, even if it's in the tax-payer's expense. Legalize 'em, and the entire problem will be solved.

They do contribute to the economy. They shop, they buy houses, and so on and on. Them not paying taxes is IRRELEVANT because they'd be getting money back from the government in tax returns if they were legal.

There is honestly no argument here, only nationalism and even possibly racism on the behalf of the American people.

What a shame.

 

Actually I think there are plenty of other reasons people hate Americans.

Immigration dose not bother or effect me.
