you know that high pitched loud whistle you see people do by putting their fingers in their mouth? how do people do that? i've always wanted to learn how to do that. yesterday i practiced for hours and i was just spitting all over the place. any tips?
nope...never could figure it out i make awesome drip noises though...freehand too...meaning i dont need to flick my cheek like most people do
nope, never managed it. As a kid I harbored deep and bitter resentment towards those who could. I'm mostly over it now though.
My grandfather always called his dogs in that way. He tried to teach me a few times but I just couldn't get it. To be fair I can't normal whistle either....
I can whistle really loudly using my index and middle finger of each hand. It takes some practice. You just have to push the tip of your tongue back and mess with the shape until you start to get a muffled whistle and perfect it. Once I finally got it I was able to whistle loud enough that it made me ears ring. I usually get looks at sporting events and concerts when I whistle like that.
If fingers dont work, try putting your whole fist in your mouth, its all about air pressure, give it a try now
I could whistle before I got braces on my teeth. When they took the braces off, I could no longer whistle. So, I started smoking pot!
Nope! I was able to do it once or twice, but lost the ability probably from lack of practice. How about the old owl sound with your hands cupped? Used to be able to do that one.
I remember being obsessed for years, tbh, trying to do this! lol Out of the probably 2 million times I tried to do it, I accidentally got that loud piercing whistle twice. I was never able to duplicate what I did. My late husband could whistle like that - both with fingers and without. It was so LOUD you could hear him a block away when he whistled with "just" his mouth. When he would use the fingers too, it was ear-splitting and could probably crack glass. I LOVED it!!! Husband's father could do this also, so I've wondered before if it is genetic or something, since NOT A SOUL in my family can whistle like this. It must just be a gift. Our son can't do it though and he has never understood my obsession with this whistling.
"Out of the probably 2 million times I tried to do it, I accidentally got that loud piercing whistle twice. I was never able to duplicate what I did." It's easy. You just have to make adjustments and you'll eventually get it consistently. I can't do the loud fingerless whistle. I'd love to get that one down.
