Or do you have to remove the piercing completely?

They will ask you to remove it if they are x-raying that body part.

But, if they're not... the x-ray can be done with the retainer, right?

When I had my shoulder smashed and my right side, I had to remove everything on my arms and body and my necklace. No piercings though.

Probably depends where you get x rayed would help for helpful comments. :d

That sounds odd, that they let you keep your piercings. I know for sure you have to remove any jewelry and accessories. But, when it comes to retainers.... not too knowledgeable on the subject. I would assume it would be okay to wear retainers, as long as the retainer isn't on the area that is going to be x-rayed, but I want to make sure.
