Actually, one needs to be careful when discussing pro and con of ANTIFA...

The word means "anti fascist"...

First time I heard the term "Populist Right" I thought it was a joke. I mean how the hell can anyone wishing to take back power for the people support either fascism or fascism masquerading as socialism?

Actually, I think CNN and the New York Times are a little less left in orientation. There is inherent bias in any news medium, because they must select a small fraction of the events going on in the world every day for coverage, the selection is based on what they think will attract viewers ("If it bleeds, it leads"), and since the demise of the Fairness Doctrine under President Reagan, narrow casting to suit the ideological tastes of the audiences. However, the MSM retains at least a semblance of professional standards, and doesn't just make stuff up--unlike the ARM (Alternative Rightwing Media). So many folks assume that since they can't trust the MSM, the ARM will give them more accurate news--which is the kind of assumption that makes and ass of u and me.

Fox and the New York Post are run by the Murdochs. Breitbart is run by the Mercers, who bankrolled Trump.. OAN is run by R.S.Herring, the right-wing tech entrepreneur who founded Trump's "go to" news source (that is, other than his own Truth Central). Then there is talk radio, long a bastion of semi-literate right-wing agitators. Koch Industries, which funded the Tea Party, recently engineered a partial takeover of Time Magazine, maybe the better to spew climate change denial disinformation. And of course there are the chans and Q-Anon, laboratories of right wing conspiracy theories, the more fantastic the better. None of them have the slightest interest in truth, but on the contrary, are in the business of spreading bald faced lies. Yes, it's a jungle out there!

 

Ironically Rupert Murdoch is not an American and runs some American so called media that is lauded by xenophobes.
