Can someone tell me Paris Subway Fares?

I am leaving next week for Paris and trying to decide if I need to buy passes within the city, or will I use the subways enough to make it worth it.

Could someone please give me some sample subway fares, say between key tourist points. Also from the airport to the city (I will be staying at a hotel near the airport----but I forget the exact address. I was told there is a subway station accross the street).

The prize for one journey in Zones 1 and 2 is €1.70 or €12 for 10 tickets but there are a whole load of different offers and concessions if you want to combine the metro with the bus etc. There is a web site that gives all the details. Just Google "fares Paris subway". Hope that's helpful!
