Can Mods/Admins read member's PM's?

Ive heard there is a vbulletin addon that allows admin to read PMs...but I dont know for sure..

 

Yeah- technically I have some of those functions but I still am not going to try poring through the private communications. Don't know if I have the capability and frankly I have better things to do that that if I do.

I try very hard not to do to someone anything that I wouldn't have done to myself in a similar circumstance..

Using the standard vBulletin software there is no way for mods/admins to read private messages. vBulletin is open source, and as such, such capabilities could easily be implemented. So the short answer is 'probably not.'

 

in the software that this forum is run on the admin has to check a box to enable mods to read pm's (via the admin control panel) by default it's disabled

by default the admin can read PM's, at least in the last version I tooled around with.

distinct possibility of using a different version.

 

vbulliten.com has a list of all the sites with a million plus users.
