How much food do you have in your house? What happens if the trucks stop coming to the grocery stores. Now picture that everywhere. Yes indeed, we lose far far too many people because of the cruel and uncaring nature of the global system. Kids dying for the lack of clean water and .07USD per day. However, that would nothing compared to what would happen if the trucks stop running.
Governments only mission in life is to maintain itself in power. I do not think they are going to give us any thing. I think in developed countries there would be even more problems than in nondeveloped. People in developed countries have less basic skills, they do not have a realistic worldview (they think money is something other than paper), and they have more access to weapons. From firearms to golf clubs. I think it would get very nasty in the US in about two weeks.
So grab yer buddys and yer guns (or at least plenty of spit) and GO GIT 'EM!!!! That's YOUR job. We need to have most of the power mongers in the US offed as well as alot of the other world leaders... Of course, then there's always the guys who step in to take their places. Ya better do some serious planning, 'cause if ya plan on winning, you need to be VERY VISIBLE so that they don't just BLAME IT ON TERRORISTS and have yet more excuses for fucking with our lifes and rights. Or you're just givin' 'em more fuel for their fire. And then they'd just label YOU as a terrorist. Hey, but if ya have a plan, make it a good one. Ya got alot of "American dream" idiots to fuck with. How much do you want to spend the rest of your life in jail? Are ya smart enough to pull it off? There's certainly enough folks out there who hate the govt. and the rich snobs around these parts. How many people do you realistically believe will jump to participate in your plans? I know I'll do MY part, by throwing rotten eggs at the next SUV that goes by. Maybe I'll burn down my neighbors house, he's a right wing republican who supports the troops, has a fancy house and SUV and hates hippys. His brother is even a State cop! Your idea is just great! Maybe I'll go to the court house and spit in the sherriffs face! I'm sure THAT will make things BETTER!!! Peace.
I'm still trying to figure out how you change someone's mind forcefully. In order for me to change my mind..I have to WANT to change it. The people in dictatorship countries may not revolt...does no mean they have changed their minds and embraced their goverment...they live in fear. A child can be forced to DO something...but they are going to think how they think untill they want to change how they think about something. Spitting in someone's face is not going to make them change their mind...only their shirt. Refusing in every way you can to go along with their agenda will hit them in the pocket book better. Refuse to depend on the cheap crap they want to sell you, refuse to buy new cars that cannot even be worked on by the average garage mechanic, grow your own food so it don't matter if the truck comes...get alternative enegiy systems in place so you can tell the utility companies to fuck off, find a trade you can make money at and get your expenses down so you don't have to be a cog in their federal tax system, search out people who want to join you in these endevors so you can barter back and forth with child care, repairs, food exchanges etc. so you can avoid the state tax system. When people have their personnal revolts in place then bigger things can happen. When you ask people to give up their life styles on a grand scale..you're going to run into ALOT of opposition. Kinda like getting that x-box control out of a 13 year olds hand... way too comfy. Yes, Americans are..... And that is why I do believe that Colooner is very correct in one of his observations.... When the power goes off and the trucks stop coming and not a drop of water comes out of the faucet...the shit will come down. People as a whole have no clue how to even start a fire without a match. And there are plenty who will die without their blowdryers. Sooo Larry and I decided that we are going to do our best to learn how to do everything we can for ourselves..we have a pretty good start but there is plenty more...
As far as communism...no it cannot work. I'm interested in finding a country that is working well under this system.... In theory and on paper it may look so nice....everyone working together for the common good, everyone sharing and being taken care of by their joint efforts. problem is...simply put, there are all different kinds of people in the world,in your country,in your state,on your block,in your family. And then there is that pesky little thing called...a mind. And that pesky little mind does a strange thing called...thinking for yourself. In communism there is no freedoms. No individual ideas are welcome. If you don't like something tough. Its all for the good of everyone. There is no freedom of religion, no freedom to choose the job you would like to do, no freedom to achieve what you may. It is not the same as a "commune"...in that you would be able to come and go as you please or that you would live with people you chose to live and work with. Creativity is frowned upon. Communism can and does quickly turn into dictatorships, and military states...gotaa keep the workers in line. Of course there has to be someone in charge....its not like you live in a house of 10 people..its a whole country...and we all know what having a group of people "in charge" can do... Very quick to turn into the rulers and the workers. Yeah it can be ok if everyone is on the same page.....but we're not.
Well, socialism can and has worked. Just watch the DVD documentary, The Take, available at red world media.
People oppress themselves through their demands for worthless, materialistic, shit. Capitalism has nothing to do with it.
no idiological economic fanatacism, left, right, up, down or sideways, in its literal and absolute form, 'works' to the universal bennifit of anyone. this is not a question of one idiology or another. ALL are deficient and all, when prioritised ahead of the kind of world we all have to live in, become tyrannical. (as does any other form of fanatacism, and neo-conservatism IS fanatacism) if there weren't people trying to make everything have to begin and end with little green pieces of paper with no natural reason to, and without reguard the death, distruction and suffering being caused by doing so, would anyone be willing to kill and die to prevent them? communitarian policies arn't always such a bad idea. killing people is. =^^= .../\...
The problem with a discussion about communism is that people get it confused with what went on in the former USSR. That was socialism - also known as "state capitalism". Anarchists and communists want the same thing. They want decentralised structures of power in which community politics are the dominant feature -An abscence of centralised government. politics within the community and between communities. The question is can communism ever work - well my answer is only as long as you keep out the socialist who would sell you into their system of slavery just as easily as you have been bought and paid for by this system. Also do not confuse your government structure with capitalism - A capitalist is not necessarily excluded from the idea of communism (see anarcho-capitalism) Your government forms part of a "parliamentary democracy" its only tie to capitalism is that it accepts the values of capitalism. A capitalist is merely someone who uses money to make money, as opposed to selling their labour as a commodity.
then is someone who both sells his labor and uses capital to earn his living still a capitelist? im thinking no, that term is probaly just reserved for the bank that lends him money. right? anarcho capitielist is an intereting idea, seems to have the same basic flaw marx did, ignoring the "human factor" and the type of people who fill the vacume in such an open goverment
people who are for and people who are against any idiology will call it whatever suits their agenda to do so. the deffinicians of any idiology are as arbitrary as who ever is doing the defining. niether capitolsim, comunism or any damd thing else ism, works, to the bennifit of anyone, in their arbitrarily pure form (whatever the hell THAT may happen to be). ALL idiologies are bull shit. the kind of world we all have to live in is what counts. =^^= .../\... =^^= .../\...
Dangit, someone stole my line. To paraphrase: Communism has never and will never work. Capitalism does work. Yay! Capitalism!
Im am starting to see this more than ever. Necessity is the mother of invention. Ideology is the mother of convention.
to put is simply i'm leary of the use of a term, any term for that matter, that has come to be used as a prejorative for anything and everything that doesn't fall within the perview of another, equaly ambiguous term. it's not the egalitarianism nor the individual incentive that are either one the problem, it's this whole big use of the this verses that to gind political axes. without some sort egalitarian inclination we would still be hiding in caves or swinging through the branches of trees. no such thing as a village more inclusive then a single kinship would ever have been innovated. there would be no political debate because there would be nothing to politicly debate. so historicly, the altruistic principal is essential. but then bully boys came along and figured out if they got enough of their friends togather they could tell way more numbers of people what to do and how to do it then just the number of their friends, thus this whole bussiness of kings and armies and the pretense of soverignty got started. for the most part it is this latter we could do without, whatever perfume of idiology is used to hide the stink. but then it doesn't stop there does it? there's the problem of comfort zone and the popularity of emotional attatchment to it. and that means the need for infrastructure and that of course in turn depends on social organization. well idiologies make people feel better or worse about one or another way of going about this, but otherwise a pretty much a sham and a pretense. the need and usefulness of BOTH individual incentive and egalitarian support is real and valid. so, i notice this is getting long so i'll cut it short, i'm in favor of a kind of socialism without guns. money optional. but it's distortions are by no means desirable either. banding togather for mutual bennifit and survival is natural, perhapse even neccessary, and with human population's current numbers, infrastructure becomes a matter of survival. but letting austentation get away with murder hasn't brought universal gratification. if anything nearly the opposite. so to those who say capitolism works, i say the're using a very strainge deffinician of working. it 'works' to the bennifit of bullys at the expense of everyone else. that much is true. and marxism does have real and possibly fatal weaknessess. but what of NON marxist socialisms? it is the latter that i see as the only real hope of anything idiological being of any real bennifit. but again it may well be and probably is, that all concepts of ideology are equaly and utterly gratuitous. =^^= .../\...
