Gods! I hate having to go outside to smoke now. I know it is so much better for my health but it makes my mind and spirit so damn restless. I can't relax. I miss sitting at my desk smoking away and relaxing on the internet.

Damn it. A restless Aerianne is no fun when she's alone.

I've found all three. It wasn't all that hard, really.

The one I called "The Good Witch" and whom I once described as "indescribably delicious" has a new baby.

The born-again Christian one whom I called "The Bad Witch" and whom I thought would be firmly and loyally married to her husband forever is divorced.

The third one is Deanna. You already know all about HER.

Well I could say a lot more, actually, but I might as well just save it for my book.

 

It's kind of disappointing to find out that those we once held esteemed, as somehow special, are merely mundane.

I'm taking my routinely disappointed, yet eternally hopeful and optimistic, ass outside to smoke in a hard chair I've hidden on a junky back porch to keep the cats from harassing me. I'm gettin' so antsy...

I'm quoting ALL of this because it has to do with books.

I am currently in the midst of reading most stupid (EVER) series of quite successful books - the Twilight series. My. Dear. God. To think that woman has made LOADS of money from that ridiculous fluff makes me almost nauseous...then to make it worse there are these highly successful movies, making her even MORE money! YAY for her!

The only reason I've been reading these brain-cell-killing books is because a dear friend of my insisted I read them since she has a woman-fan crush on dear Rob Pattinson.

ALL that being said...Zg, I know good and well you could now publish a book much MUCH better than this (shit). And as I read it, I wouldn't even want to poke out my eyes with a pencil.

I've had to take a break from those idiotic books and am reading a Lee Child's book, a Jack Reacher book. That (the Jack Reacher book) is how I am right now still sane and able to type semi-coherently here at HF.

 

They were and still are special. I dunno a helluva lot, Aerianne. What I know is that when I knew these women in my physical life they were sometimes astounding. I don't suppose the mundane-seeming details of their earthly human lives detracts from that. What I don't understand amounts to a major pile, but I know what I've experienced with them.

As Deanna once told me out loud, standing out on the sidewalk with me, smoking a cigarette, "I'm just an ordinary human being." And there was just the barest hint of tongue-in-cheek smugness in her expression and tone. Right. Ordinary my ass. I'M ordinary. What she and her hag sisters are is something else again, beyond my comprehension.

Yeah, they have husbands, babies, houses, and all the ordinary accoutrements of human life. But ordinary and mundane they are not.

 

Well...how fortunate that you still hold them in such esteem.

 

My 17-year-old daughter LOVES the Twilight series. I haven't read a single book or seen a single movie in the series. I consulted my 19-year-old son, who is one of the best literary and arts critics I know, and he just kind of gave me this weird, eye-rolling look and said, "Oh, yes, they are SO GOOD." 'Nuff said. So I didn't bother.

Anyway I very much appreciate your encouragement about my book. I think for the most part you're right. The thing that concerns me is that I still don't have an ending for the book that I consider worthwhile. But I'm still making an effort to work on the rest of the story.

How could it end when you're still here?

 

Part of me does...part of me is still pissed as hell about the way they've treated me. There's nothing black-and-white about my story - it is ALL shades of gray. It would obviously never fly in Hollywood.

 

I've read that there are two such books, and they seem to differ quite a bit on the details.

My life might go on, but to write a decent book you need a satisfying culmination and tying-together of all the events. Without an ending like that, my book is shit.

 

I only read the one book , i'm not really interested in reading the second one

I'm not waiting for any particular thing, except for a good ending. I haven't seen anything in my life that looks like a good ending yet. A good ending could be any one of a number of possibilities. Whatever I might hope for or expect will undoubtedly be wrong, so I don't waste much time on that. But I think I'll have the sense to know a good ending if it occurs.
