I've bought a few pipes and a bong on EBay, good pieces at great prices. I'm kinda troubled because some of them were shipped from China and I imagine they could have been made cheap by sweatshop workers or worse made for free by prison workers. Anyone else order paraphernalia from EBay or similar shopping sites?
If you still live in Portland why don't you shop at one of the local headshops? The salespeople will be able to show you what some of the glass blowers are making.
nope..but if you just imagine they are made by wealthy well to do chinesians then your problem is solved... in other words just stop imagining id be more worried about the lead content or other cheap shit they would use to make it really?...around here there has to be residue..there is no laws against owning a brand new one ...
i try to avoid Chinese stuff...if we all did there would be no carbon footprint of a boong made there and shipped here......in many parts of china they wear masks over their faces to not breathe pollution....we all paid for lots of that pollution.....buy local if you can

Hell there ain't no law against smoking banana peels out of a bong. I would fight that one and win every time....well I wouldn' because mine would have non banana peel residue but not if it was new. Anyway I only buy cheap electronics from China. But not on eBay. Only from amazon.
At least with sweatshop labor they're paid, inadequate though the wages may be. In the prison, where many are serving for what we don't consider to be crimes, they're unpaid slave labor.
I did. If I bought something equivalent there it would cost about 3 times as much. I bought this on EBay for $28.99, it's 12 inches high. I also bought this for $11.99
i don't know much (ok, anything) about chinese prisons. but i would think that making bongs for free would still beat sitting in a cell staring at the wall all day every day. at least in theory the prisoners are criminals being punished/rehabilitated, instead of just some kids who need to make 12 cents a day so their parents can put food on the table.
In any case they're both bad and I hope I'm not supporting such a system by buying pipes from China via EBay. Then again I'd probably be supporting that system if I shopped at Wal-Mart.
it's hard to tell the quality without actually picking it up, but assuming they are well made then yeah, you got a good deal.

Yeah sure, cleaning them after use is on the agenda, but 2 days in you laugh that idea our the front doors and down the road and around the corner and just fuck off would ya!
