A certain former Chancellor of Germany claimed that he was appointed by God.

Jesus clearly said "Blessed are the peacemakers". When Peter whipped out his sword to try to prevent Jesus's arrest Jesus told Peter "Those that live by the sword will die by the sword".

Isaiah 8:20 says "If they speak not according to this word it is because there is NO light in them".

It's all BUSHIT cause Bush is following the plan written out by the neocons years ago. He's followed it to the letter, so unless the neocons got a fax from god, he just lying again.

He has to fall on "talking to God" as his FINAL excuse for his policy failures in Iraq and Afghanistan & Israel.

    That's because:
    1. There were no WMD in Iraq which was the first excuse.
    2. They're not bringing democracy to Iraq which was the next excuse.
    3. They can't bring Saddam to trial because then the truth about the US & UK's involvement in Iraq would come out, including their deals with Saddam, which was the third excuse.
    4. They didn't stop terrorism from spreading into Iraq, in fact they've made it easy now that Saddam is gone and it's only encouraged "terrorists" from all over the world to come and kill Americans in Iraq. That was the fourth excuse.

So of course with all his excuses for the invasion of Iraq coming back to haunt him, and ever mounting violence there, with his approval rating now at 37%, what else is he to do?

    BLAME GOD!

Yup, Bush is preparing to blame GOD for his own fucking incompetence!

And while Bush talks to GOD, more Americans are dying each day for a hopeless cause.

It does all sound rather righteous .. many religous people speak in this way..We don't really know if it was with bible in hand, hand on waist with chest sticking out..all Charlton Heston style..or in quiet reflection of how god guids his morale compass, and what he should do...do we ?.
I guess you have all decieded the style is grandious and scarey and is something to worry about, what a suprise;) .

The whole religeon thing frightens me..but i am not so cynical not to see that from Mother terresa to George bush.. people say they are doing gods work...We did not denounce Mother Terresa for using such parlance did we.. I suppose GWB is that bad christian, right ?[pardon the pun].
I can see the spin that this is being given, and i am sorry i can't get worked up about it...everything he says god told him to do..was a good thing.

I understand that WMD was used as a rationale..not the only thing [we have to remember] and i can see how it has been grabbed hold of a lot further and more than likely given a life and significance far beyond it's actual significance...another shocking revelation i am having [in a none religous way obviously].

The Iraqi government has confirmed that the trial of Saddam Hussein will begin on 19 October.

There had been widespread speculation that the trial would begin as soon as possible after the national referendum on Iraq's constitution on 15 October. Several of the ex-president's closest aides will also face trial with him, on charges relating to the massacre of 143 Shias in a town north of Baghdad.

my best guess is he did it with tongue firmly in cheek. in private i imagine he'd be no more a born again christian than i am.

i'd love to see you worked up actually. can't q imagine it. oh yes, now i can, the day u called me a born again conspiracy poof. that was exciting. now, if u were to go to google and type in the following: 'that crazy, swindling albanian dwarf' you will be surprised to find there existed a dark side to mother theresa that, it's alleged, was sordid and cruel. she was, according to christiopher hitchens, a real bitch.

i believe that wmds were the sole rationale for invasion. before it was discovered that they didnt exist. much toing and froing occured in the last quarter of 2002 and the beginning of 2003 if u recall, all about weapons inspections and so on. hans blix was a face we saw alot then. wmds were needed by the us to justify its pre-emptive swoop. my view, 'cynical' you'll no doubt label it, is that bush et al were only too aware of the intelligence that said there were no wmds in iraq and that's why they invaded: they knew saddam had none.

i must admit i didn't expect him to survive long enough to have a trial. it will be interesting to see if turns out like milosevich's trial. i believe geoffrey robertson will be defending saddam.

so much blood on their hands to get ink on their fingers.

George Bush, sadly, reflects his electorate. America is undergoing one of its periodic lurches into Christianity. Bush’s popularity has fallen because he had not lived up to the rather dim expectations of the public. The war was not ended in a quick flash of “shock and awe”. Osama was not dragged through the streets behind the chariot of Bush. He did not protect the homeland from weather and global market forces. His popularity is falling not because he is a shortsighted, unpatriotic, granter of favors to cronies. It is falling because he is perceived as a failure something that Carter could tell him all about. The continuing development of the counterculture and the gradual education of the American people is the only thing that will produce real change in this country. If we get to have an election in 2008, I fear it will be another bullshit choice between two straw men in formal dress. Even if one of them is a woman. They should all have to wear “wholly owned subsidiary of ___________ signs”. May (insert your god here) save our planet!

should have read "that theiving fanatical albanian dwarf..."

"One exception to the academic tone is Vanity Fair scribe Christopher Hitchens's mean but undeniably funny "Princess Di, Mother T, and Me," in which the self-proclaimed "official pisseron of people's funerals" provides an opinionated journal of his days on the talk-show circuit. Bitchy as Hitchens is (he calls the deceased pair "a simpering Bambi narcissist and a thieving, fanatical Albanian dwarf"), he does make smart observations about the circus, including his own role in it. "See me, feel me, touch me, heal me," writes Hitchens of the crowds pawing at Prince William. "Don't people have any pity for this boy they so adore? . . . Is he to be some kind of blood bank?" Hitchens also sardonically (if briefly) acknowledges the limits of his type of journalism: "But could I honestly say I guessed that people would feel this way about Diana? Forget it, Hitchens. There are depths of the soul that are hidden from your sort."

To describe this film as dishonest and demagogic would almost be to promote those terms to the level of respectability. To describe this film as a piece of crap would be to run the risk of a discourse that would never again rise above the excremental. To describe it as an exercise in facile crowd-pleasing would be too obvious. Fahrenheit 9/11 is a sinister exercise in moral frivolity, crudely disguised as an exercise in seriousness. It is also a spectacle of abject political cowardice masking itself as a demonstration of "dissenting" bravery.

    Right you are.

    Said like a TRUE PATRIOT!

They've stolen our history from us, distorted the rest and brainwashed the masses into blind compliance.

They have organized the information flowing to the masses so that it's content is controlled by a few, most with the same agenda.

Alternative education is essential to any future hopes.
