please do jolta, id like to get some opinions on it. as long as we all play nice i dont see any reason not to talk politics.
a) I don't think we should be in anymore wars at this time. There's really no urgency with the situation as the guy has been oppressing his people and producing nuclear weapons for quite sometime now. b) I don't see the point of making the statement "kim jong ill is putting his people through a hell that saddam only saw in his wet dreams". None of us know jack shit about how either of them really treat their people. c) There are so many better things that we could do to help out around the world. Increase our humanitarian roles not our military.
Bush not only smoked, he sniffed coke, drank, womanized and probably had a hand in trying to bring down Clinton on these very points...(smoke and womanizing anyway). His nick name in the Skull and Bones at Harvard was magog, by the way, for his insatiable appetite for women. And do you know what he REALLY thinks?...
a) and C) are valid points, i didnt mean go to war right now though, i meant kim jong ill was more of a threat IMO then saddam. as for B) its proven that both of them have oppressed their people. Ive lived in south korea and those people are angry at NK because of its political status. not only angry, but scared too, so scared in fact that they have anti-air guns on top of most of the hotels. i never heard of the surrounding countries of Iraq havign precautions like that. So iraq invaded kuwait...that wasnt any of our business. I just think NK poses way more of a threat then Iraq and We could do alot more good there.
Well, you're acting like war is the answer. War is always the last option (or was, before this Iraq fiasco). There are talks to be made, diplomacy to be used. War would only be a last resort, especially with a nuclear nation. Anyways, NK mainly is just trying to blackmail the US, and to a lesser extent Japan and SK, to get relief aid money. I doubt he really wants to attack anyone, but will puff up his chest and act like he does. It's really just a big game of chicken.
its so fun to talk politics in a forum where nobody bitches and shit im not nessacerily(sp?) saying war first questions later, there always steps to be taken like you said, im jsut saying IMO north korea should have been dealt with before Iraq, seeing as they admitted to ahving nuclear capabilities before the war in Iraq happened.
The media is not the problem. We can't blame the media, or the "gubment" because they are simply doing what they do. Those who are to blame are the people who buy into it. Those of us who allow ourselves to be guided by our programming and society's ripples and currents are to blame. Wake up!
I don't see how you can't blame the media. Their reporting is shit. They are the only source of information to the people and they are generally responsible for the beliefs of the people right now.
I agree, democracy can only work with well informed people, and the media is pandering to the government. And don't try to tell me there aren't power hungry bastards in the government. They are the problem, at least a good part of it. Yes, the people are far too complacent, and need to get up, get aware, get informed, and get busy. Truly that is the only way it will ever change. But you have to put the blame on the people we trust to guide our country. That's the government. They have to be responsible, and held accountable.
brandon i think you should run for a political office, id say bill too if he lived here. Jolta and I could be cabinet members haha
becoming politions would probably turn us into them though it is waht i can see myself getting into when i reach my 40's lol and getting real liberalism into the world!
I agree. And anyone who tries to do real good gets torn apart by the oppositional forces. I'd probably get assasinated.
