No.....we never gave Saddam any WMD. We helped him get into power and fight the Iranians, but no WMD. The UN records show he got those on his own. In fact, the Republican Guard was using Soviet built tanks against us when we invaded. Back at ya.

Actually, if anyone had bothered to read the article, including west point, they would realise it is a pretty weak case for claiming WMDs were shipped out of the country. It mostly says missiles were broken up and sold. Missiles are not WMD. Then it says dual use equipment was also sold. Well dual use equipment is not a WMD either. The headline is complete hype.
Saddam had them, i have no doubt about that. But we only gave him about oh 9 months warning to get rid of them. Seriously though, West Point and Danip, you both seem like reasonably intelligent people, but your posts are (from what I've read) driven by a "republicans = good, democrats = bad" mentality, and that's the wrong way to look at it. If you want to express your views by all means do so, no one is going to stop you, but if you want to have your views taken seriously you should show respect for others' views. Use persuasion, not flaming, to get your point across.
I dont recall flames posted by me, (except for one post that may be considered sarchastic flaming) I try to keep that to the bare minimum. I do recall however being attacked by a few regulars of this forum. And I do not associate myself with the republican party.
My posts are somewhat driven by that but that is not all of it. I do not agree with hardly anything from the democratic party, I think they are power hungry and many of the leaders of the party are bad, bad, people. There are good democrats out there, one of my best friends is a democrat, he's pretty far left too. Like westpoint said neither of us were really spamming or flamming anyone, it's the peoples attitudes on this forum of republicans/conservitives = satan democrats/liberals = god's, and because of that nothing either of us say will be taken as persuasion just stupidity.
