Bottom line: fuck who ever you want just as long as they are okay with it. Oh & thanks Capt. Intollerant, with out hate there is no love. & the sky is blue...& my first name begins with an N. Wow, did you make a point with that one...
Everyone needs to just chill & fuck somebody. That's why capt. foamy is so unbalanced, he thinks his same sexed neighbor is hot & jacks off to him unfulfilling his true desire to fuck his brains out. How sad. Okay, that may have just been a theory, but it adds up.
    This is so frustrating...
less fighting, more toking. 'at's what I gotta say. Okay? Just get over it. Two dudes fuck sometimes, & that's cool. Right on for them. K?
Take a mind break... Realize not everyone is just like you in pleasantville.

Man I totally agree with you lavalamped. peoples personal beliefs on things should not get in the way of anyone elses rights under any circumstances. People have the right to do what they want. It is not hurting anyone else if someone choses to be with someone of the same sex. It is not a big deal. And people fight that it isnt 'godly' to do it, well God is not supposed to be able to get in the way of other peoples beliefs and actions. And if you really want to go by god it also says in the bible that God is the only one that can judge other people and judging is what everyone is doing to homosexuals. if you dont think it is 'right' (which i personally do not see what is so wrong with it and i believe that you are born to be either heterosexual or homosexual and you do not really have a choice about it) then you dont do it, but that doesnt mean noone else can either. We need to learn to just love each other regardless of the differences we all have in us.

That was a very moving post; too bad there aren't more people in the world that think that way. I know I try to get over differences; but it's hard with the people who don't agree with that philosophy, which seems to be the majority now a days...

Show me where I contradicted myself. Please, show me the exact sentence vs the other sentence that contradicts. Also, because you said that only my last sentence was an opinion, that would lead to say that the rest was fact. If that is true, then you agree with me that God did not intend for a man to be with a man and that it is wrong. If you disagree, then everything I said is in my opinion. AKA my beliefs.

To the rest of you that are trying to knock my God. Thats your deal, not mine. Believe what you want, I'll pray for you. According to my God that has taken care of me in so many ways and given me so many miracles, He says homosexuality is wrong. Oh, and you can be born with aids, not gayism. It's not a gene, its something that feels good to someone. If anything scientific, I would call it a sickness.

You state that God created us this way so that we would have heterosexual relations only; the word of God is not an opinion nor is his/her views of what's right yours. You did not create us, therefor you have no grounds to say how we should be. If you feel that if God had intended for us to have homosexual relations (giving us the ability to procreate as such) then you are clearly assuming what was set forth to be moral is that this conflicts with God's views of morality. This, in a sense, is assuming you know what God really wanted in creating us and is seemingly blasphemous. If this is incorrect example of blasphemy, I apologize as I am not Christian and do not know what goes against the religion (other than homosexuality).

I can barely believe what you just posted that; homosexuality, a sickness? Sexual orientation isn't a gene, like you said, it's a certain mindset that some people can not help. I'm sure no one is sure of what actually causes the fluxuation in sexual orientation, so you of all people have no say in why it is so wrong. If people chose to be homosexuals purely to defy Christianity, then you could rant all you want, but God made them that way. God was the one who created people afterall, right? See, this is why I am not Christian, the bible is a tangled mess of contradictions and it sickens me to see someone so faithfully and blindly follow such rules and regulations to set their life to.

But, if it suits you and helps you through life, awesome; I just think you shouldn't be so strict in your pursuit of the religion.

Did I say that? Did I mention baseball, nature, or peace? In my post I was refering to homesexuality. It was plain as day.

Ok, in talking with my wife on this sentence, I asked her if the word of God wasn't an opinion what would it be, she said "Well, then logicly it would be considered fact." Now, if you disreguard that bit of info I have this for you. If I believe in the Word of God, and you don't, then that makes it my opinion.

I never told you what to do or what to believe. I have my reasons for believing that homosexuality is wrong.

In The Bible, we are told that homosexuality is wrong. Therefore, my understanding comes from the Word of God.

Ok, let's look at it from a scientific pov then. As I have stated before, men have a penis, and women have a vagina. What is the penis used for? What is the vagina used for? Our bodies, however you want to believe they were created, are designed to fit the other sex not the same sex. It's a simple and logical idea. Even when you attempt to remove my beliefs through God, and look at it wholy on a logical and scientifical(did i just make a new word?) level, homosexuality doesn't fit.

According to The Bible, God does not make you sin. God does not make you a homosexual. You make that decision on your own. Also, if you are not a believer and a follower, why would you attempt to use God in your argument? If you don't believe in Him, why bring Him up in your defence?

But you presented the Word of God as a statement against the concept of homosexuality. If you quote something (it doesn't have to be in a direct context), it usually implies that you are using it to present a fact. Saying that God created men and women with specific sexual organs that fit eachother implied that homosexuality was not meant to be by God; a fact.

That you do, just as I have my reasons for believing that your view is still a little close minded.

Yes, but I just find that the concept of free will is diminished by this thought. Why would we be given free will if we were supposed to not do something? Granted, murder and other acts that are alike also throw the above statement into question.

Although our bodies may not be made for it, feelings towards members of the same sex can and do still exist. Just because the idea of sexual intercourse is twisted on this field, doesn't mean that a man cannot love another man or a woman can't love another woman. Maybe what the bible speaks of about homosexuality is actually the act of sexual intercourse? I don't know, I have never really read the bible.

Most people don't choose to be a homosexual. I, for one, am fairly sure that I am bisexual; I have no idea why I'm attracted to both sexes, but I am. The only reason I use God in my defence is because it seems to be a common ground that both me and you can converse on; I may not be Christian now, but I was until about 2 years ago. I have a decent understanding of the religion, I suppose; but I look at it from other viewpoints now. I suppose I should look at it from your viewpoint, but I just don't agree with some of the aspects/concepts of the bible.

Because He will not force us to do anything. He does not force us to accept Him, nor love Him. He gave us free will so that we could decide to follow Him.

I believe in the Word of God. I trust God. I trust The Holy Spirit wich shows me these things. I can also look at it from a whole other view, and still see that it is wrong. You dont see two male dogs having sex do you? You dont see two female cats having sex do you? You don't see same sex horses having sex do you? Homosexuality is wrong, no matter wich way you look at it.

Who mentioned homophobia? Because I don't accept the sin doesn't mean I won't love the sinner. Here is the cliche: I have several (insert gay/black/hispanic/pegan) friends who know my beliefs and we get along just fine.

I interpret "homosexuality is wrong" as homophobia. Of course, it's easy (unfortunately) to find people of all walks of life who think "homosexuality is wrong." I don't like it when people use the Bible as their reason for stuff like "homosexuality is wrong" (I'm very not the religious type). I don't think homosexuality is wrong - there's a lot more than a person than whom a person is sexually attracted to, and if I someone's attracted to a person of the same sex, so be it. I see nothing wrong with that.

The definition of what's "wrong" has seemingly changed in America. A long time ago in America, interracial marriage seemed "wrong." Now, it's (at least) accepted by more than half of the American population.

If you want to marry your dog, go ahead :) A father wants to marry his daughter... very weird.

That's the way I like it! And by the way, in Holland we almost had a gay president. Did you know Pim Fortuyn? Unfortunately he was murdered the day before the elections...

Well first of all I must thank Real for inviting me here from another thread http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=194235#post194235.

I will go back to the question I had there -

You seem to be basing your views on religious dogma in this case, the bible. So is your view that gay marriage is wrong based on your own rational reasoning or have you given up thinking for yourself and decided to allow some long dead worshiper of a middle eastern sky god think for you?

And if you accept that piece of text without question do you accept just as unthinkingly the wackier parts of the bible, like the stoning to death of people for certain crimes?

    Real’s reply was

You think I am dumb because I have faith in something you can't see. Like the air you breath I know God is real. His pressence and miracles have been in my life for a long time, starting from the day I was supposed to be aborted. Would you like to see my views on homosexuality(thats what it is, not gay, I hate that people use a word that means happy to describe a sickness)?

Guess you believe a rock crashed into something and we sprouted from an omeba or something? Perhaps monkeys? No wait, maybe it was some magical mushroom that created us from it's spores and we should bow down to it.....don't get pissy because we believe in something you can't understand.

And yet another person that takes bits and pieces of The Bible and twists them. Read that part about the stoning...who showed up and stoped it? "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone".

    God - 1
    You – 0

Well Real I don’t know you well enough yet to know if you are dumb or not, but when you say –

I have faith in something you can't see. Like the air you breath I know God is real.

Are you saying that your god is as real and as quantifiable as the air I breathe? You see the air I breathe is made up of a number of gasses along with other trace elements. The main gasses involved in breathable air on earth are nitrogen and oxygen and it is possible to extract and separate the different components that make up the air so that they can be physically seen and examined. Are you saying that your god can physically be seen and examined, and that you have a method to do this?

From what I know most Christians believe there god is not viewable or examinable in any real (that is scientific) sense there is no incontrovertible proof of its existence, and it is for that very reason that they place such relevance in faith.

So it seems to me that rationality and questioning go out the window to be replaced in belief in the words of someone else, be it priest or sacred text.

But there are others who just use religion.

So I ask for example is your view on homosexuality a prejudice that you are just using a religion to back up or are you slavishly what the bible says?

But either way it seems irrationally based.

    **

don't get pissy because we believe in something you can't understand.

The thing is do you understand it? I mean you’re a Christian but what type which version of the many Christian gods do you worship? Is it the Catholic one or one of those Protestant sects, is it the one of the right wing TV evangelist or the liberal Anglican vicar? And what about all those other religions why ain’t you one of those a Sikh, Hindu or Muslim?

    **

And yet another person that takes bits and pieces of The Bible and twists them. Read that part about the stoning...who showed up and stoped it? "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone".

Well that was in the New Testament the thing about homosexuality you were talking about was from the Old Testament. Also isn’t it open to interpretation, did Jesus here mean that only those that had not committed the sin of adultery could stone? Or was it that any sin committed counted? What about original sin, and if Jesus washed away that sin what then? Was he talking about all executions or just stoning, etc etc, I could go on for a while and that is often the problem there can be many interpretations of religious texts which are normal ambiguous in nature.

So here are a few more reasons for execution in the Old Testament

A male who was not circumcised: Genesis 17:14

Eating leavened bread during the Feast of Unleavened Bread: Exodus 12:15

    Manufacturing anointing oil: Exodus 30:33

Engaging in ritual animal sacrifices other than at the temple: Leviticus 17:1-9

    Consuming blood: Leviticus 17:10

Eating peace offerings while ritually unclean: Leviticus 7:20

Waiting too long before consuming sacrifices: Leviticus 19:5-8

Sexual activity with a woman who is menstruating: Leviticus 20:18

Going to the temple in an unclean state: Numbers 19:13

Persons teaching another religion: Deuteronomy 13:1-11

A prophet whose prophecy does not come true: Deuteronomy 18:22

Gluttony and excessive drinking: Deuteronomy 21:20

    **

    God - 1
    You – 0

There are seldom winners and losers in a debate and only the immature think in scoring points. Having said that it looks like a football (soccer) score, so for a bit of fun I’ll tell you what if you can get your god to meet me at my local pitch I’ll shoot a few penalties with him (or her) but if this god of yours doesn’t show up I win OK?

He's already there, says He has been waiting on you your whole life and wants to know why you have ignored Him. He understands your need to see Him. As many needed to see Christ after He died to believe he had risen. He also points out that a lot of things have happened that you believe in that you never saw. You have 5 min to get there. If you make it, get on your knees and tell Him hello for me. :)

"He's already there, says He has been waiting on you your whole life and wants to know why you have ignored Him."

So let me get this straight this god talks to you like that ‘tells’ you things, and you can’t see whose talking it is just a voice in your head, right?

I’m being serious here RA I think you should seek some professional medical help. Having religion is one thing it is just irrational, hearing voices in your head is an indication of something a lot more serious and dangerous, for you and others. Please get help.
