Of course DC would be targeted. The map gives me hope that i could survive for a little while if it ever happened.

^its not DC .. the map is of new york and the surrounding area including NJ

it shows the damage that would be caused by a nuclear bomb .. (550kT??) the darkest pink is the worst destruction.

Yeah but i know how big the area on the map is and i know how big the dc map would be. So using the circles i could figure out which ring i would be in if the center ring was in the national mall.

With all the buildings and factories in and around new york city, conditions would be just right for a phenomenon known as a firestorm. and if the winds are blowing out of the southwest most of new england would experience secondary radiation :hide:

it's supposed to work but i dont know if you can ever come out, not without wearing a special suit at least. you could just stay underground in nyc i guess...live in the tunnels and shit, an underground society like in the matrix movies

I was thinking the same thing. I think its to give people someplace to go to make them feel safe/keep them off the streets during those last few moments.

You could learn a thing or two from those folks who live underground in the subway (tunnel rats) until the voices in their heads command them to kill you

Well, that was weird. My computer wigged out....played a bunch of u-tube songs all at once that were on my page, and I did not push to play any of them. It was horrifc and I could not get the jumbled up noise to stop....no link or click would work...I kept trying....gave up...pushed the off button, and then my computer took its time installing updates first and then shut off, and it was like this computer acted independantly of me the entire time....LOL

Less bodies to clean up in the aftermath

A tunnel collapse can serve as mass-graves.

No, but it does happen periodically and often now, if I have too many links saved on the bottom of the page. I was trying to add some to my favorites, and then the problems began...alsoo, it was almost impossible to type anything in the u-tube link today......that took forever and a day and it kept getting tangled up. I don't know. Just had this computer cleaned not too long ago...back in February....so I have no idea what is going on with it now.
