Hahahahaha! I do sympathize though. I hate mice. Oddly enough, I had a pet rat growing up.

Morals are subjective. If no one is being harmed, then you're go to go IMO.

Part of me hating them is that I am terrified of mice. I have no reason to be and the logical knows that but when I see one it might as well be 7 feet tall and weigh 300 pounds. :)

My mom likes to bring morals and religion into too many conversations that had nothing to do with morality which is irrelevant to the conversation.

I fuckin hate it sometimes it's annoying :/

The gist of my morals... is there someone being hurt or not? And that's the answer....very simple.
    :)

You're not gonna just say stuff like that and not tell us what you're talking about, are you?

I would be afraid of a 300 lb. 7 foot tall mouse too.

I did like the visual of him with the remote and a beer though. :2thumbsup:

I hope it's one of those traps that catches the mouse and allows you to release it outdoors :( .

I do have a live trap that I have used in the past during the fall or spring when I have had a mouse in.

It is -13c going down to -31c here and to release a mouse into that would be far more cruel than to use a snap trap. In the winter I use a snap trap as it is more humane.

I'm not sure about that. Mice have been surviving outdoors for a very long time. They aren't helpless.

Snapping its spine because it tried to find a warm place to hide isn't exactly more humane than giving it a chance at life back outside.

    You're breaking my bleeding heart!

The moment it came into my home it changed the rules. I have no issue with mice outside and never do them any harm. In my home they are not only carriers of germs, destroy food and defecate all over, they are simply not welcome.

We have about 6 feet of snow down and frost in the ground for a few feet further. The chances of them surviving is bleak unless I release it right at my house, where it might be able to find it's natural home . If I release it at the house it will simply follow its own chem trail back in and I am not willing to start having it as a house pet.

Sadly, that is how it is.

I'm very, very sorry to hear that.

I hope that you don't come back as a mouse in your next life :(.

Lots of animals in the wild attack each other for crossing territories.

Even so, humans are capable of compassion and reason. We can empathize with their pain. I can see no justification for knowing that you are being needlessly cruel and then doing it anyway.

I would capture the mouse and drive it a short distance away before releasing it somewhere. Or, knowing me, keep it as a pet until the snow begins to melt.
