That's what the basis of my freak out senior year was about. My exact words were "I'm still just as fat as when I left before the summer. So, either I've been pregnant for a long fucking time or you are all retarded." And every year they did the same thing. Yet, they didn't make fun of the girls who WERE pregnant...and some of them were so fat you'd never even tell.
I would've been so confused if I witnessed this like it's so stupid. I remember I always felt the need to be really nice to the pregnant girls
Bullying isn’t some random act nor does it rely on chance; its the inevitable result of darwinian evolution If an individual or a group of kids sense weakness or vulnerability in another kid they’ll exploit it, it may not be pretty but it is necessary. Hotwater
Preying on the weak and vulnerable is a "necessity"? And here was me thinking that empathy and compassion for the vulnerable were viewed as "humane" traits. It would appear that even some non-human animals have managed to evolve to a mindset less primitive than that possessed by bullies, and by you as well, it would seem. It's a very, very fine line between the bullying mindset, and that of the Third Reich...
Okay, that IS funny, but.... It had nothing to do with your belly, as you said they never went after the actually pregnant, fat, or both. It's a social thing. Wether bullying is the in-group picking on someone, or the wannabe badass loner picking on someone, it's the same thing.... making up for your own insecurities by hurting others. Once you understand that, it's not that hard to negate.

I think this betrays a slight misunderstanding of how darwinism manifests itself in social groups. actually the reason we survive as a species and pass on our genetic material is more dependent on us being able to form a cohesive unit and work together for survival than it does just being the biggest dick on the playground. kids are pricks because they have a poorly developed sense of empathy, they are inherently self-centred and find it hard to imagine others as having the same thoughts and feelings that they do. around the time we become teenagers we start to develop this more and form incredibly strong bonds in social groups (which often last the rest of our lives) BUT this change, which comes from realising that you are one among many and not merely one, can lead to intense crises of identity (teenage angst, as it's dismissively referred to) then it can become more important to victimise others, to define them as "other" and alienate them from your social group in order to reinforce your own sense of identity, for this reason bullying can intensify. people grow, change, get over themselves eventually (for the most part), but some people don't make it through that process without scars, some never make it through at all. horrible business it can be.
[QUOTE=broony;73598 i second that! an 1000 for their supporters, as those who try ta condone it, or excuse it in any way, shape, form, or fashion are actually bigger assholes! than the people doing it, in my opinion.would'nt ya just love ta meet the likes a them face ta face on the street. i bet you would'nt see their asses for dust if ya did. ha! ha! they'd run so fast away.:2thumbsup:
Im glad I could fight and was weird from the door.. however this one time, this dude knocked me down and tried to get on the bus. so I slashed the tires on the bus so nobody could go home.. Im willing to lose a 5dollar butterfly knife for the cause. leave me the fuck alone.
Once a guy spit in my face over and over again I guess that was bullying but it was more of a turn on it felt so good.
