I found this video.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cvn9l1pJ3-A"]Richie Sowa's man made island - YouTube which lead me to this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Afp_jobnsNg"]Floating Plastic Bottle Island - YouTube This dude built his own island using fishnets full of plastic bottles as the foundation. He is apparently completely self-sustainable, growing fruit and using solar stills for water. It seems so awesome. I would love to do that. I'm thinking it might be good to use something other than plastic bottles for buoyancy, on account of potential hazard to the environment.. Then again, there's already so much rubbish in the oceans, what's the difference... I've always wanted my own island, I've just never wanted to earn the money required to buy one. I wonder if this could be a viable option. Also curious about potential legal issues and stress.. I guess you would want to undertake the whole thing in a country with a relaxed attitude towards visas, somewhere you can buy a long-term business visa for cheap, and obviously a tropical climate.
If he wants to play Gillian's island with a few assorted pets that's fine but its much more fun with a mary ann :2thumbsup: Hotwater
