Building Structures to be Earth Quake Proof

I heard on TV that there was an idea of making buildings with foundations that were able to lift off the ground when earthyquakes it.

I think the idea is good but not realistic in these times to get the funding to replace the bases of existing buildings.

I'm not sure, but it may be something to try and install install as new structures are created.

I would like to think that there are other constructive methods that are easier to combat against earthquakes.

 

They've been doing it all over California for like 35 years.

Chile and Japan too.
