I always thought that when they do time machine movies.. that you're not supposed to interact or it will change events in the future.. and they always interact.. and things change.. why is it that the time machine never disappears?
Time machines are possible. The only thing with a time machine (Based on modern cosmology and quantum mechanics) is that you would not be able to travel back in time. You would be able to go forward in time as far as you would like. Travelling back in time would only bring you as far back as the point where the time machine was created.
I got wrote down a date and put it somewhere I'd always have access to it so that if I ever invented/found a time machine I'd go back in time to give it to myself at that very time. Sadly I waited a whole day and future me didn't come. FML
Yeah, I built a time machine once but it didn't work. I based it on a theory I had that time loops and repeats itself endlessly as the universe cycles through expansion and contraction. So all I needed to do was build a device the replicates itself and passengers out of phase with the universe in suspended animation for trillions of years. Then synchronizing itself back in the space-time loop on a preset date while reanimating it's passengers. So I programmed it to visit myself as a child as my first test. My instruments indicated it replicated but I was never visited. I do have this strange memory of being woken up by a scream when I was around 11 and my room was splattered in a weird hot goo, but I'm sure that had nothing to do with my experiment.
Time doesn't exist, it is a concept invented by men through time and differnet civilizations to get society organized. I always like the idea of a time machine, but unfortunately it is not real, just a nice fiction for all of us.
I'm not sure that it doesn't exist. The only way to time travel is probably to travel forward one 'second' at a time though, just like we all are doing. Unless you leave earth and go on a cosmic journey for a couple of years.
Linear time is a mental construct. We grow in both time and space as we currently emerge. the past that we know as well as the future, are artifacts of currently living tissue.
As long as you don’t violate the laws of physics you’re fine; but if you try to create a paradox that’s when you get in trouble with the sensors Hotwater
Thats why I would go back in time to the 60's and figure out how to get hooked up with some good acid, then I would not care I'm trapped in a different era.
The problem is everybody seems to think time is linear. Nobody will ever create a time machine thinking this way. Everything is happening simultaneously so all you need to do is step sideways just right..... You don't even need a machine. A map is nice though so you don't get lost.
In reality, time travel's a tricky one. There are such things as "wormholes" that actually exist, but they are so small nothing muich can pass through them, bar mby gravitons. If a worm hole was made that was bigger it would cause something along the lines of a feed back loop (for those of you who know about sound and electronics). For those of you who don't, it's basically a loop what feeds off it's self in some manner. It's hard to explain .. but because the source is feeding itself down one particular rout and then that route is then getting fed back into it's self, it pretty much doubles up in size every cycle causing feedback. If a worm hole could be made (and the idea is that a worm hole is a porthole to another point in the same time line, or possibly another dimension), then because it's part of the same time line, anything passing through it will cause a feed back effect. Something WILL double up. merely by traveling back in time you will change enough to cause an ever lasting loop of increasing copies of what ever passes though. That's assuming a worm hole is a porthole to another point in this timeline and not a porthole to another dimension entirely. Mind = Blown!!!! :dizzy2:
Made it! Had a time travel to the past, shared a few secrets with Leonardo, and The Mayans about the 2012 thing. The ytold me it was just a new pyramid they would build, where they could take 2012 laps around it ,and watch the skies, and venerate the gods. Strange how everything remains the same. Technology has changed, but people are exactly the same.
Time doesn't exist, the watch we use to see us through day and night, is UTILITARIAN TIME, an invention by us humans, but it doesn't exist per se, The time we have invented is 1) UTILITARIAN TIME 2) PSYCHOLOGICAL TIME, how we feel time in the 24 hours, fast or slow 3)Existential time, Real time, where we are in touch with our SELF. Utililitarian Time was invented because of day and night, when the earth rotates, to organize society. But it doesn't exist ,same as the lines on the map.
Hey, what's up. I'm actually in the future typing this but posting it back in your time period. This is cool! The thing is, you could build a time machine that requires a physical vehicle to transport you back and fourth. It's been done, we believe, but those machines probably broke down in an ancient time period and the inventors got stuck there. The better approach is to build a machine that sends your cells only back or forward in time, and summons them to return to the point of origin according to your programming instructions. No physical vehicle required. I'd tell you how to make one but it's against the law in the future to reveal such information. Sorry. But, at least I gave you a valuable clue.
