hey anybody got any good recipes for a natural bug repellant. i want to make some for a friend who hates using commercial bug dope on her skin. I have a lot of mint hanging up to dry because it is good for repelling bugs and also smells so good. but i don't know if i should make a lotion out of it, or soak it in something and put it in a spray bottle.... maybe soak it in olive oil to rub on your skin? anybody ever do this? have any tips? thanks
catnip: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/nwgardens/90412_lovejoy10.shtml basil: http://www.artemisherbs.co.uk/info/basil_essential_oil.html citronella of course and this site: http://www.wildroots.com/insect.htm seems to ahve some good multi-herb recipes
Lemons too, I've heard you can put Lemon Joy is a bowl on your picnic table and it will keep the buggies away from the area.
